My Favorite Makeup and Skincare Products of Year 2016

I know i am quite late to post my last year favourites but as they say better late than never so without further explanation here it is "My year 2016 favorite products"
Drumroll ☺

 Face

I am currently rotating two foundations in my makeup routine but the one which I particularly Enjoyed using was  this past year was holika holika sweet cotton bb cream. Its light in weight, smells like cotton candy and has very natural finish

Blush

: MUA blush in Marshmallow  My fondness for this blush remains strong and I haven't found any blush which can replace this gem

Makeup Revolution matte effect concealer: this yellow based concealer is creamy and does not accentuates dry under eye area

Lips:

 Clazona matte Lipgloss
The local dupe of colorpop matte liquid lipsticks. Amazing lasting power and great pigmentation

Mua lip trio in temptress : I really like the balm like texture of the lipsticks and how one could create a sheer to very defined pout with these. Definitely one of most used makeup product of 2016

Eye shadow: the mos beautiful earth toned eyeshadow palette by MUA in shade Heaven and Earth

Eyeliner:
Essence dip eyeliner  is by far the best liquid liner I have ever used. The felt dip is so soft and sturdy to line up the eyes. Its not waterproof but I like the formula

Mascara:
Essence Get Big Lashes

Gives the best volume  and length ever to the lashes I haven't found any other last which could perform as great as this mascara

Eyebrows :
Sweet touch eyeliner pencil. This is long lasting pencil eyeliner which I use to fill in my eye brows. It does the job well and gives subtle definition to my eyes 👀

MUA pro base eye primer

and  Maybelline colossal kajal in turquoise

for days when you want a little drama, this twist up eyeliner is the best option.

Face wash:

Duvi Stockholm green tea face wash

I really enjoyed using this face wash all year long. It smells so good, lather well and cleansed skin without over drying it

Facemask:
 Sheet mask cracare best ever

Of all the Korean sheet masks I used last year. This one without any doubt was the best. I moisturized my face well, didn't break out my skin. Brightened my complexion and smell nice too

Freeman oatmeal mask : To battle off my oily skin I used this mud mask. It performs quite well and reduces my pores appearance
also kept the oil production under control too

 Face moisturizer :

 Oriflame tea tree

Having an over active skin which keeps on producing frightful amount of oil I rarely use moisturizer as it means clogged pores and comedones but this moisturizer gets absorbed into the skin immediately without leaving any. Sticky or oily residue behind

Circle lens :
Diamond green lens

Very vibrant. The design is beautiful and very comfortable to wear.
So these are all the products I enjoyed using last year
lets see which new products will make it to the favorites list this year

Mua Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette

It's been so long since I last reviewed an eye shadow palette today I will be reviewing the third eye shadow palette I have in my collection its by mua and it's called heaven and earth.

This is my absolute favourite palette it has all the nude, earthy and taupe shades one can dream off plus the golds in this one are absolutely stunning . This palette is versatile to create looks both for day and night. For work and a night out. Though there aren't any matte shades in this palette but the shimmer is so finely milled so its very beautiful

The packaging of this palette is nothing fancy to write about. Plain rectangular shaped palette with a transparent see through lid and a sponge tip applicator ofcourse. The eye shadows are housed in circular pans just like a water paint box I used to have when I was a kid

The eye shadows are very pigmented, soft and buttery . They are easy to blend too .
For a drugstore this is a gem of a product

MUA pro base eye primer

you just cant imagine the frustration i feel when my eye shadow just creases and vanishes off my eyelids after a hour or two , hello i just spend an our creating all that art work and now its gone leaving behind a undifferentiated mess of colors and oil

most of the times the elaborate art work which we have done on our eyes is lost due to reason that we dont use primer underneath our eyeshadows

i have been aware about the presences of primers for a long  time but didnt had enough money to purchase the ever popular urban decay primer potion but then Mua came to pakistan and all the wallet related issues were solved

Price: 490m pkr

Quantity : 7.5 ml

Packaging: classy silver tube have a doe foot applicator pretty much similar to a lipgloss

About the product: its a silicon based primer which has a creamy texture and a foundation like tint to it.  easy to apply and spread on the lids , dries within a few seconds

makes the eye shadows look more vibrant, helps them to adhere better to the lids, prevents creasing and smudging through out the day , didnt affect the blending process at all

i dont have any other primer to compare it with but i do own a jumbo pencil by jordana which i have been using as a base so i decided to compare it with that

i used an eye shadow from the makeup revolution palette for the swatch purpose

the first swatch shows the eye shadow applied o nits own the second swatch shows when eyeshadow is applied on the mua pro base primer and the tird swatch shows the eyesdow applied on the jordane pencil

as you can see the eye shadow looks quite vibrant on the second and third swatch as compared to the first one

in my opinion this eye shadow is steal for the price

which eye shadow primer do you use?

Life Update post 04: makeup organization haul shopping …….

Hello.

I am so excited about the holy month of Ramadan, love all the parts of the holy month ranging from sehri to aftar and long taraweeh nights ,  and then finally shopping for Eid

I hauled a few items , tried out the timotei shampoo on a recommendation of a beauty blogger . I will admit it. This shampoo smells amazing and leaves my hair soft and shiny too

Nivea is a household name so I clearly don’t need to elaborate more about the cream except for the fact that I found a mini size jar and thought it would be very handy to throw it my college bag

I also purchased another product from the brand oriflame and this time it’s a skin lotion I will be posting a review on this lotion soon

Can’t get enough of Mua intense kisses lipgloss so just went ahead and ordered my third shade from the range this one is called kiss and makeup

I am running low on my current foundation so bought essence foundation in advance( review already lined up to be posted }. Purchased dip eyeliner on a whim because everyone was raving about it, so far so good

I went shopping with my friends a few days back and came across a lot of local brands who have wide range of makeup products in every color

Picked out some random nail colors

Purchased these Christine eyeliner/lipliners for RS 60 /- each , man they are so soft and pigmented

I don’t have much interest in cooking or baking but these kitchen related stuff looked so cute that I had to take a picture

That’s all for  today’s post

Lip colors for summer to pair with a neutral palette

Before I get into showing you the lip colors I have picked for summer let me just say it out loud!! How on earth did the temperature turned 43C in Islamabad it never exceeded more than 38 and the highest that I remember was 40 C. Apocalypse
How is it in your city??

Now on to the post, this year I have been wearing a lot of makeup trends mostly Korean and Japanese. I am also doing a Project Make A Dent in  Makeup so far I have made quite noticeable dents in 4 of my lipstick, used up 2/3 of my daily foundation  and also hit pan on a pressed powder . In case you are interested about details you can read the post here

So keeping up with the hot yet bright and colorful theme of summer I picked out these lip colors for the summer

For an eye-shadow palette that can go well with these bright lipsticks I chose Undress Too palette by MUA which is a very affordable dupe for the infamous Urban Decay Naked 2 palette
It has a perfect combination of glittery and matte shades so you can either go bold or don a very neutral eye look

That’s all girls
Which lip colors do you wear most in summers??

MUA Undress Me Too Palette

after purchasing the makeup revolution i heart palette in pure cult i was quite curious to try out more dupes of the infamous Urban Decay Naked palettes

MUA is a very popular drugstore brand and they have a lot of great palettes to choose from so this particular palette the undress me to palette looked a dupe for  UD Naked 2 palette so i ordered this

Price : 750 PKR

Quanity: 9.5 grams

PACKAGING:

palette is made up of sturdy white plastic quite like water colors box i owned when when i was a kid
it has a double ended sponge tip applicator and a clear lid so you can see the eye shadows inside easily

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

this a cool toned eyeshadow palette which contains fair amount of neutral and basic eye shadows which you can use to create looks suitable for both day time and night time

there are a couple of shimmery eye shadows in the palette that you can use to create a foiled eye shadow look,

pigmentation is pretty good . just two shades a bit chalky, i usually use my MUA eyeshadow primer underneath or the Jordana jumbo eyeliner pencil a base as i have oily eyelids

all the eye shadows have their own individual names which are written at the back, sorry i forgot to take a picture of back of the palette

there are about 3 matte shades , two glittery shades and 7 shimmery shades

for maximum pigmentation i suggest suing the eye shadow brush wet

have you tried any eyeshadow palette by mua??

Mua Intenses Kisses Lipgloss in lips are sealed

i previously owned one of Mua lipgloss from the intense kisses range in the shade pucker up (read review here) but it became all gross and smelled awful so i chucked it out ,

recently when looking up at swatches online i realized how beautiful this color looked so i ordered it immediately

Quantity: 5.1ml

Price 360 pkr

Packaging:

transparent square plastic tube with a doe foot applicator and a glitter kiss on the lid

about the product:

it has good pigmentation for a lipgloss, the color is a very pretty pink perfect for spring or summer. feels very  hydrating on the lips. it has a faint sweet scent to it but no taste

MUA mascara shade 6

hello again,

today i will reviewing a very colorful mascara that is something i would rarely use since i wear more  of a neutral makeup but then it looked so vibrant that i just couldn't resist

Quantity: 5ml

price:210 pkr

Packaging:

its a simple electric blue tube same as the  shade of mascara has a very long wand and an average brush

this mascara has the most weirdest texture i have ever used. it has  cotton fibers like fibers in it for giving volume and length i suppose. the color of the mascara is a vibrant electric blue

i have found another way to use this mascara that is by applying a coat of black mascara on top of this mascara gives thick false eyelashes like effect which is so pretty

for the price i think this mascara is  a bargain

available at www.just4girls.pk and mua store online
