SUMMER SKINCARE FAVOURITES 2020

I shared my Makeup Favourites for 2020 in previous post. I have a few tried and tested skincare favourites for the summer of 2020
Lets start shall we !!

The first step of my skincare routine is an oil cleanser but since I have run out of my favorite Celimax Blackhead Removing Cleansing Oil I haven't found anything as that on my skincare routine

On the other hand I am genuinely enjoying the Senka Speedy Perfect Whip Cleanser . This is one of the cult favourite best selling cleanser from Japan. I opted for the pump bottle packaging as I really like the ease of use and tons of bubbles this creates.

Axisy Daily Purifying Treatment toner is something I used last year and liked it but them I got distracted and this ended up forgotten in my cupboard. But now due to the current pandemic and mask my acne has flared up pretty bad.  So I rediscovered this gem of product in my stash and incorporated this back into my routine. And slowly with continuous use my skin has improved a lot.

Sweating + sebum = clogged pores which means BHA. I have been using this Cosrx BHA Power Liquid on and off for 1 year and this works wonder for the pesky clogged pores I get on my face. I just pump this on a cotton pad and swipe it on my face gently a few times

Have you ever tried a gel spray . This Herb Doctor's Gel Spray surprised me a lot . It has this cool gel texture which sprays out like a liquid.  I like to pop this in fridge prior to use and trust me this feels so refreshing on a hot day. The hydration is adequate for my oily skin.

GASTON Shooting Star Crystal Eye Patch . It is hydrating, depuffing and beautiful to look at. Do I need to say more ? I am already at the end of my tub

A 2 in 1 product in my opinion that works really well in keeping the sebum under control with its smooth silicon like texture while protecting against the sun at the same time. Sunscreens are notorious for giving white cast or piling under makeup but this DMCK Clean AC Sunstick SPF 50 PA+++ crosses out all of those problems

Summer is incomplete without a good mid mask . This year I am really digging this Pixi Glow Mud Mask. It has a relatively soft, flowy easy to spread texture which dries down completely in less than 10 mins. I have noticed that this really grabs all the gunk and sebum in my pores

Pimple patches are a must have for zit . I recently introduced this Purito All Care Recovery Cica Aid to my routine . I like these. They are thin and do the job without damaging the wallet

2ndesign First Lip Balm Restore and Soothe is a generous sized non scented lip balm that moisturizes chapped lips and makes them plump

I  am guilty of having smelly feet . This Keep Cool and Soothe Feet has been a complete game changer for me . It refreshes the feet and keep the dreadful smell under control.

APIEU Icing Sweet Bar Mask and AbyBOM Ultra Serum Leaf Mask are to of my favourite sheet masks for summer.  Both of them have nice thin sheets, good summer scent and water like essence.

Duft and Doft Stockholm Rose is the perfect floral scent you must try this summer. It is soft , feminine and very summer appropriate

Lastly I want to add in these two really summery nail enamels to the list. These are the Golden Rose Color Expert Nail Lacquer in Shade 113 and 130 . Just takes two coats to get beautiful color and shine.

So that is all for my Summer 2020 skincare favourites. I hope you enjoyed my post

[Review] MISSHA Pro-Touch Powder Pact SPF25 PA

My favourite Drugstore powder from Maybelline got discontinued last year . I was so annoyed to see the powder vanish from the shelves all of the sudden so I decided to try something from Korean Brands

MISSHA Pro-Touch Powder Pact looked pretty promising in terms of coverage and longevity plus the price was pretty good ( I bought this when it was on discount at Jolse

Features
The pressed powder easily adheres to the skin and is convenient to carry around.
The fine and light powder particle makes the skin natural and smooth.
Naturally covers the skin by adhering and filling the pores and rough skin.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Silica, Magnesium Myristate, Nylon-12, Barium Sulfate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Boron Nitride, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Dimethicone, Triethylhexanoin, Iron Oxides, Methicone, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Iron Oxides, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance, Iron Oxides.

The packaging makes this look super high end . I am really impressed by the variation of plastic and shiny reflective metal like texture that was used to create the top part. This comes with a nice fluffy puff. Its sturdy and really good .

This powder comes in two shades #21 and #23 . I got this in shade #21 which matches my skin color perfectly.  The powder is very finely milled and soft so its blends seamlessly into the skin and is barely noticeable. It's not drying at all. Because of the soft texture it mattifies skin but doesn't accentuate any dry areas or make the makeup look cakey.

I prefer to apply this powder with the puff that is included in the pact , because I have noticed that brush kicks up a lot of powder which results in fallout and product wastage

This powder is excellent when it comes to blurring out imperfections and pores. I have also noticed that this gives the skin that smooth ceramic like finish

On days when I am in a hurry or I am sick and don't feel like applying makeup I just apply a light layer of this powder on top of my sunscreen and my face looks really put together and better

It's hard to come by a decent, inexpensive face powder these days. If you are on a look out for a good affordable everyday powder pact I recommend you to try the MISSHA Pro-Touch Powder Pact SPF25 PA++. I promise it won't fail you. This is available on Jolse.com

[Review] Missha Tonight Brilliant Boosting Essence

Though I genuinely like missha as a brand I got this because of the super cute packaging. There are around 4 products in this range. I only got the Tonight Brilliant Boosting Essence

The packaging is just stunning a beautiful pink blue ombre plastic bottle ( which mimics the glass to some extend) . This has that regular toner dispensing mechanism. This contains hydrolized pearl proteins.  If you shake the bottle you can definitely see the iridescent swirling pearl proteins in the bottle

Features
With sophisticated technology, micro-size particles are implemented to help absorb depth.
It helps to wake up the luster of the skin by imparting moisture.

The core ingredient of connecting the pearl crystals tightly is conchiolin and moisturizes between the layers of the skin to complete a solid skin texture.

This can be applied with a cotton pad or patted into the skin with hands. I prefer my hands over cotton rounds as minimal products gets wasted

The essence has a faint sweet peach like scent and is not sticky at all. I layered this three times on my face . This does a really lovely job of hydrating skin. With continuous use this makes the skin plump and soft. I find this to be a great option for those humid days when one is looking for minimal yet hydrating skincare products

MISSHA Tonight Brilliance Boosting Essence can be purchased from Jolse.com

[Review] Missha Glow Skin Balm

I have oily skin but these days I have been wearing a lot of dewy base/ makeup. One of my absolute favorite Glow-y primer is Hemish Artless Glow Primer. This product was recommended by a lot of people online for glass skin so this is the main reason I picked this one up

Features:

Water cream, morning pack, primer, and photo-cream all at once for quick glow makeup.
Moisture patent ingredient moisturizes the skin and keeps it moisturized for a long time.
Instead of skin-friendly ingredients and purified water, it contains 53% of the number of Damask Rose Flowers, making it possible to use sensitive skin mild.

The packaging is stunning. A frosted glass tub with a reflective rose gold lid on top. Its beautiful but the lids gets smudge marks / finger prints easily. There is a white plastic lid and a very sleek looking spatula in the box

The name fits the texture perfectly. Its indeed like a balm. Its has that solid balm like consistency. I scooped a bit with a help of spatula and rubbed it on the back of my hand. The floral scented balm slowly began to melt . Its felt very buttery and smooth.

Initially on application it feels oily. But if you give this primer some time to set. Its absorbs into the skin leaving behind a soft glossy/glowy finish. This makes the skin look plump and more healthy.  According to Missha this can be used on its own or as a primer. Personally I prefer this as a primer. I have oily skin and in currently it's winter in my city. This alone just preps my skin for makeup .

Unlike the Heimish primer this has zero shimmer particles. The glow comes from the oils that are in ingredients list. For my oily skin this is working quite well in winters. I do apply translucent powder on certain areas of my face like nose, cheeks and forhead ( areas that produce sebum the most) . So that way my skin looks glowy but not greasy

I can't say much for other skin types but for my oily skin this Missha Glow Skin Balm will only work in winters. Because in summer my sebaceous glands so wild with sebum production so I doubt that I need that extra glow. If you have dry skin this will be an all year rounder.

Missha Glow Skin Balm is available on Jolse.com

[Review] MISSHA Soon Soo Gram Pure & Weightless Full Coverage BB Cushion

MISSHA makes great base products. This is one of their latest releases. According to a fellow korean blogger Freda from @yooniquelife Soon Soo means 'Pure' in Korean. Instead of using cushion soaked with BB cream this comes in a very unique and hygienic packaging. When you push the plastic plate down the product is pushed out through the holes. Overall I like the muted pink packaging its not bulky and does not take much space in the purse

Features
The lightweight BB cushion adheres evenly to the skin, covering skin faults perfectly. Various ingredients strengthen the skin barrier and soothe and moisturize the skin. The hands-free and sanitary cushion case helps cushion application without direct touches.

The BB cream has a thick consistency. This gives full coverage and can feel a little dry if the skin is not properly moisturized and prepped with a primer prior to application. Because of the thick formula the product is not dispensed evenly. I have been using this for two weeks but the bb cream comes out through selected areas.

I have this in the shade #21 which looks dark on the plate but when applied on my face is an accurate match for my skin color. Missha also has this cushion in #23

Most korean cushion foundations give sheer to medium coverage . To see a bb cushion with high coverage is impressive. Many full coverage base products either emphasize texture, look cakey or are difficult to blend but this is very easy to use. The finish is semi matte with a hint of tackiness. If you have dry skin you wouldn't need a setting powder but since I have oily skin and my hair easily become greasy I like to dust a bit of powder to stop my hair clinging to my face

I think my favorite Moonshot Micro Correct Fit cushion finally has a competitor. This costs less and performs as good as the Moonshot cushion

MISSHA Soon Soo Gram Pure & Weightless Full Coverage BB Cushion is available on Jolse
