November calls for warm jackets, delicious chicken corn soup, great sales and big shopping events yup you have guessed it right . I am indeed talking about BLACK FRIDAY

In case you have been living under the rock for the past few years and don't know what's Black Friday I am going shed some light on the topic for you. According to google Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in United states where many retailers and stores offer big discounts. For the past few years this has been followed by many stores situated out side the US and has now become a global phenomenon. To know more check out this cool article at BLACK FRIDAY WIKI
Pakistan too has caught up with this shopping trend and for the last two or maybe three years . Many online stores have been offering black Friday discounts.
I managed to grab a lot of great items from the rack and online stores during the Black Friday sales last year. So I have decided to share some of my shopping secrets for Black Friday Deals to help you guys cross out more products from your wish list this year.

1. Make a list if things you need .its easy to end up buying a bunch of useless items that you buy only because they are on sale. To stay focused make a list and stick to it.
2. Design a budget: one of the major mistakes I made last year was not outlining a budget for myself. So I ended up spending a lot then I should have
3. Research before hand: Its best to check various stores for price differences and the discounts they will be offering before making the actual purchase. Its also better to see if the particular item ( lets say clothes or makeup) suits you? See swatches reviews of products online so that you know your are purchasing the right product
4. Use the coupons. You would be surprised to know but many stores have special coupons which can be added to your purchase hence help you save up more money. Search online for coupons print them or save them on your phone so that you can use them on Black friday
5.Place combined order to save up on shipping, one of my best tricks on saving money on black Friday is placing a big order

Many online stores offer free shipping when you place an order of certain amount.
So when is Black Friday 2017 in Pakistan?
This year it is on 24th November 2017. Its actually the last Friday of the month November. So the date varies every year.

This cream Is a combination of vitamin B5 and Hyaluronic acid and has the tendency to provide more moisture and hydration than water

The reason why I don't have picture of its box is that my package ended up in a mail ( accident which resulted in damage to the packaging thankfully the container is intact)

The two main ingredients are B5 and hyaluronic acid.
B5 provides hydration, it prevents aging and acne and maintains skin elasticity
While hyaluronic acid revitalizes skin. makes it softer and smooth, also reduces fine lines and wrinkles
About the Packaging:
A very practical chic white container which is perfect for traveling . There is a protective lid inside to maintain the freshness of the cream

About the product:
The texture is very interesting even though it says cream, it feels more like a gel. There is a nice scent to it . To my nose it smells like custard but my sister thinks it smells spicy
The product spreads easily onto the skin and takes about 3-5 minutes to absorb into the skin . I don't usually don't pat my creams into the skin ( that's some it have reserved for my serum and essence). Combined with the ampoule this makes a perfect duo something which does not requires more skincare steps.
The wow factor: My skin its feels so bouncy, I asked my mother to try this out. For reference she has mature dry skin. On her skin the results where more pronounced. The wrinkles and fine lines on her skin were smoothed out. All the dryness was gone.To explain it more thoroughly its best to say that this cream hydrates parched , dry and dehydrated skin so the lines created due to dehydration are reduced when moisture barrier goes back to normal.

MY OPINIONI have worn this cream on its own, used it with the leegeeham Hyal B5 ampoule and even used it in combination with vitamin C . So far no adverse reaction encountered.
My mom loved this cream so much that i had no choice but to give it to her 😁
(This cream has got my mothers stamp of approval) My mom has decided to add this to her night time skin care routine as it makes her skin feels so much soft and smooth every morning. Plus she wants the B5 and Hyaluronic acid to work their magic while she is asleep.
I think is perfect for winter but is it suitable for summers too? Only change of season will tell

[Review] Purito Vitamin C serum 60 ml

Been eyeballing skincare products containing Vitamin C serum ever since I started taking interest in skincare but the high price tag always kept me from making a purchase. So i gave my skin the dose of Vitamin C it deserved by applying diluted lemon juice mixed with glycerin onto my face once every week (This DIY leaves skin soft and bright it also lightens hyper pigmentation) But some weeks ago I had an opportunity to try this Purito Vitamin C serum and now i wish i had tried this sooner. This smells like vitamin supplements 😆 (gross right ) but the results which you get afterwards are really worth all the trouble and bad smell 😅

ABOUT THE PACKAGING
The serum is cased in a sturdy tinted plastic bottle( vitamin C tends to oxidize pretty fast so tinted bottles prevent them from un necessary light exposure) with a pump(very convenient and handy) and contains 60 ml of serum in it. The pump dispenses product quite generously so 1 pump is enough to cover the whole face

ABOUT THE PRODUCT
This serum has a light straw color and has a water like texture which is not greasy or slippery. On application it stings slightly (its bearable) I have noticed that the sting vanishes once the serum dries down and is absorbed. My skin feels super smooth every time I use this.

Long term effects: Reduced hyper pigmentation and lighter acne scars 👍. Since Vitamin C/ ascorbic acid content is 10% I have decided to use this once every week as I don't want to damage my skin with too much acids and exfoliation. Sometimes I mix this serum with my regular face cream and apply this onto the face. This serum is a must have if you are starting out with skincare and want to incorporate some skin vitalising/ collagen boosting product to your routine 🙆. This can be purchased at eopen market

[Review] SAAT INSIGHT KONSTANTE ELEGANZ FIXER

I have been eye makeup fixers for the longest time as the idea of my makeup lasting longer on my oily face sounds so tempting but there are very few makeup fixers that fall in my budget and deliver a matte finish
I was genuinely surprised and super happy when my blog selected by JOLSE to review this product

Packaging: The spray bottle is packed in a very beautiful pink and green marbled cardboard box inside the box there is a sturdy white plastic bottle which has a black secure cap.the bottle has a very practical design its is travel friendly, spill proof and shatter proof. The nozzle is good its dispenses the product evenly onto the face

My thoughts:

This makeup fixer has mild scent which disappears on application. It's clear like
water and has a non tacky finish. I apply about 3-4 spritz of this on my face to set my makeup. What I have noticed that this makes my whole makeup look come together ( gives it a flawless finish) It also forms a light film which gives glow to the skin plus it reduces makeup from transferring onto other surfaces. I pressed a tissue paper only fave and was surprised to see that only a little amount of makeup / foundation transferred onto the tissue paper.
This makeup fixer does not have oil controlling properties thought nor does it claim to do so
I cant figure out the ingredients and its placement on CosDna website because the ingredients list is in Hangul (Korean) but from my experience this didn't break my skin out.

Winter Clothing Essentials for Ladies in Pakistan

Today I am doing a fashion related post. I am sure many of you might be a bit overwhelmed/ bored with my usual skin care reviews.

With September 22 comes equinox meaning that summer is officially over and autumn has begin. Though to be honest I haven't noticed much of a difference in temperature (in Islamabad) right now but I hope it will become colder soon. Here is a guide on how to keep your self Up-to-date with latest fashion trends this winter and keep those toes toasty warm while looking fabulous at the same time.

Cotton Shrugs

Cotton shrugs are one of the versatile article of clothing that can be worn over shirt. Not only do they look chic, they also do a fantastic job of keeping cold away. Shrugs are also suitable for layering over clothes. For those chilly autumn morning or evening walks shrugs are definitely one of the wisest choice. Who says you have stick to the same old boring black shrug. you can find so much variety in design and color when choosing a cotton shrug these days. I even saw a shrug top , what a genius idea!

Fleece Hoodies

Fleece denotes authority. Remember the Greek mythology of Jason and the golden fleece? Maybelline baby lips in berry crush

Lip balms are a staple in every women's purse even if you wear minimal makeup I am sure you own a lip balm. For me Lip balm remains a product that is constantly repurchased through out the year.

Not all Lip balms are made equal . Some provide hydration , some provide color , some have both hydration and pigment and then there are some meh lip balms that have fancy price tag and cute to look at packaging but the lip balm inside is something that makes you look more chapped and dry like dry prunes

Maybelline baby lip balm has been making popularity rounds in the beauty blogging world for some time now. It has been getting both rare-views and hate-views too. So when I ran out of lip balm I decided to plunge into the deep waters and purchase this lip balm
The packaging is cute 2$ or 249 PKr

Packaging:

The packaging is cute and quite eye-catching I must admit. The tube is a small enough to be grown into a small clutch or purse. The cap is secure . This lip Balm has a twist up mechanism so this makes it hygienic. I absolutely hate those products where you have to dip your fingers in .

About the product:

This smells like berries, the scent is so delicious.Now as you can see this looks os vibrant and red in the tube but on application it imparts a sheer wash of color which Is not too much buildable on multiple swipes. There are specks of gold glitter in this lip balm but don't panic they are too small to be visible or feel gritty on the lips. it applies evenly on the lips and after hrs( without drinking and eating) it disappears leaving the lips smooth and moisturized. One of the best part in my opinion is that this Lipbalm has spf 20 so not does it makes the lips soft it also protects them form the damaging rays

Beware guys there are a lot fakes circulating online and in the market so make sure you are safe from the counterfeit products as they can pose hazard to your skin

Garnier Skinactive Micellar cleansing water review

The review of this product has been pushed off for quite some time. I apologise for the delay but I wanted to try this cleanser properly to analyze all the properties (the goods and the bads) and to see for myself if all the hype which surrounds this cleanser was true.

Even though I totally love my Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar water, I wanted to know if there was a less expensive alternative available in the market. I purchased the 125ml version of this cleanser. This also comes in a big 400ml bottle too which retails for 500 Pkr
About the packaging:
This has a very chic looking bottle which is transparent and has a pink cap. The cap is secure( I haven't noticed any spillage so far) on the bottle it claims that you can get about 60 uses from a single bottle which is amazing. Because this 125 ml cost about 200 pkr and to me 60 uses translates as 2 months of usage,very cosy effective👍

About the product:
This is just like water,transparent clear and has no scent. Upon shaking the bottle some bubbles are formed. The cleanser dispenses out from the bottle quite easily without making a mess. I used this by soaking my makeup removing cotton pad with micellar water and then gentle wiping my face with it. This removed the foundation from my face with one swipe. I had to go over my lips twice to remove the matte lipstick. It removed the eyeliner and eyeshadow without much effort but for mascara I had to hold the cotton pad on my lashes for a minute to loosen up the mascara

I am quite impressed with its performance. I have heard a lot people complain that this made their skin breakout luckily I haven't experience any skin irritation or pimples while using this product so far. One thing though this leaves a slightly moist residual feel to the skin. I usually follow this up with a face cleanser so its not much of a problem for me but for those who want their skin to feel dry . You might have to consider trying out some other makeup remover.

[Review] Mediheal dress code mask ( blue, black and violet)

Today I will be review some really cute mask that were sent to my by skin18.com for review purpose . I choose these masks entirely because of the cool masquerade design hehe lets see if they are only visually attractive or worth the money too?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Compared to the sheet masks I have tried out in the past the sheets of these masks is way more thicker. In my mind I thought these would be hydrogel mask but to my surprise these turned out as regular cotton sheet masks. Whats new about these is that they have a fancy design printed on them so it makes the sheetmasking even more fun specially when you have a slumber party with your friends

Since i got three masks for the review purpose I shared these with my mother and sister

Mediheal dress code mask Black (whitening)

When I tore open the mask I was met with this nice scent which I liked a lot. Seriously I enjoyed scented makeup and skincare products as long as they have fruity or floral scent . The mask size was a bit large for my face so I tucked the ends down my chin . This particular mask tingled slightly initially but then the tingling sensation was gone
I left if on my face for 30mins (10 mins more than the recommended time). The serum in this is clear and liquidy but it did not absorb as fast as the previous masks I have tried . I rubbed the spare essence onto my arms and neck so that none of the serum foes to waste.
What I noticed was that my face was instantly bright. But sadly the effect didn't last long( It was gone by next morning).

Mediheal dress code mask Violet

For my sister the serum was too much for her taste. As the mask was large for her face some of the serum got onto her hair 😊. But I helped her fix the situating by squeezing some of the serum back into the mask packet.my sister particularly liked the design on the mask. She spent a lot of time taking selfies. According to her the mask was nice and hydrating. This variant didn't tingled her skin thankful nor did it cause acne on her face. This also brightened her face. Her skin looked fair than normal after using this mask

Mediheal dress code mask Blue (aqua care)

Onto the third mask. My mother by now is a fan of sheetmasks so she was quite eager
to try this one out by mediheal. This is labeled as aqua care clearly target for skin which needs hydration. My mother has dry skin so she absolutely loved the hydration the mask provided. She did felt that the thick fabric of the sheet mask was a little uncomfortable but other than that no complains. The scent if the mask was good too and my mother got that chok chok skin.
Out of all the three make I was sent the black dress code mask had these red faux jewel like sparkly things attached to them which made it even more fancy
I think these masks are bomb.com for the price plus they are so much fun to use.I imagined myself at a mysterious masquerade ball . Lol me and my day dreams . This is my first time trying out products by mediheal and I really liked the quality of this brand. I will surely purchase more masks from this skincare brand in future

Welcos Jeju Natural Aloe and Canola honey mask review

I received these masks on my mail a few days back and after trying them out I am posting my verdict. I decided to share one mask with my sister so she choose the aloe one while I went for the canola honey.
For reference my sister and I both have oily skin

Unlike most of the masks I have tried out in the past. The comes in a relatively small packaging. The packing is bright and cheerful
These masks contain 20ml of product which is less compared to other mask but that's ok as less serum means less mess. These make are not scented. The scent is mild and refreshing. The fit of the mask is good not too big nor too small. These is also flap to cover the nose area

The Canola honey has nice scent the serum is not sticky . It absorbs easily into the skin. One thing which I notices using this was it sting slightly more like an itch . Which I weird because I haven't Experienced. anything like this sort ever in my past. I let this mask sit on my face for 20 mins and then patted the left over serum onto my face. This made my skin soft and hydrated. The effect lasted for a couple of hours

As for the aloe. My sister enjoyed this a lot.it was her first Time trying out a sheet mask. She has a bit of redness and pimples going on her cheeks and chin so this mask did calmed her skin down and felt soothing. According to her, she noticed that there was less redness and her skin felt moisturized. Unlike the canola honey mask she didn't Experience itching
I thinks these masks are good for the value ser long-lasting results one must use them continuously for weeks to see results

Nature republic aloe cleansing gel cream

My skin has thankful gone back to normal and luckily the scars have reduced considerably. So I am now back to. Using cleansers which reduce oil production. One of the products which is still a part of my skincare routine is this gel cleanser by nature republic. If you look through my cabinet you might be very amused to see the number of cleansers/makeup removers I currently own Its insane .I think I don't have to buy another cleanser for next two years now 😊

Back to the review, I purchased this cleanser from the skinmaskaurade exhibition. I feel like kicking myself now for not purchasing more things from the exhibition( major regrets) this cleanser comes in a mint green squeezable tube which holds about 150ml of product inside. The nozzle was sealed when I purchased this. This has a green cap which does not close properly.( I think I got one with faulty lid)

Now onto the real deal which is inside the tube. Nature republic markets this product as a makeup remover which hydrates and moisturizes skin. When I removed the seal I was met with a very pleasant fresh scent of the cleanser. On squeezing the tube gel came out . The gel is clear and has a watery feel to it. It doesn't lather up at all and has a bitter taste to it. After using this the scent remained on my face for sometime.
Now Nature republic recommends to massage this gel onto the face to remove makeup and impurities and then wipe it off with a tissue and then follow it with a foam cleanser. I improvised on the instructions a bit and after massaging this on my face I removed it with water. Here's what I noticed this didn't completely remove my makeup. The base makeup was definitely gone but traces of eyeliner, mascara and liquid lipstick were still there for reference I use non water proof mascara.

Since makeup removing properties are not on par with my Garnier and Bioderma Micellar water I have decided to use this as a regular face wash and I am very pleased to tell you guys that this has helped my skin so much. It removes the oil from my face so well moreover my sebaceous glands have started behaving themselves. This does hydrate and moisture the skin unlike many of face washes I have tried in the past this does not leaves my skin overly dry and flaky.

As a makeup cleanser this product has some deficiencies but as a face wash / face cleanser I think this is a good product
This retails for 6$ on nature republic's official website and can be purchased in Pakistan for about 900 Pkr.

BioDerma SensioBio H2O Micellar water for sensitive skin review

I am a hygiene freak you can confirm this by asking my classmates . So when it comes to cleaning whether its a surface or my face I like to be very thorough. For reference
I wear makeup 6 days a week for about 6hrs/day . Special occasions (party/events are exception)

micellar water has been around for a fairly long time and the Bioderma Micellar water is the pioneer of all micellar waters(they came up with the whole concept) micellar water actually contains minute micelles of oil which when combined with water removes stubborn makeup

As you can see the packaging is quite simple. It a transparent plastic bottle which has a pink very secure cap. This micellar water comes in 100ml travel friendly bottle one medium bottle of 250ml and a big bottle of 400ml
Product is inside is clear and transparent just like water upon shaking some bubbles a re formed. This is scent free which makes it ideal for sensitive skin

Bioderma claims that this has the ph exactly same as that of our skin which is 5.5 (acidic). Which means that it does not disturbs the normal flora of the skin nor does it makes the skin overly dry or oily. It also retains the moisture of the skin and is very gently

My thought: I soak a round cotton makeup remover pad with the water micellar water and which the gentlest pressure remove makeup from my eyes and face. What I have noticed is that it easily removes makeup without much effort or tugging. Moreover I don't have to go over the same spot on my face several times. I easily breaks down foundation, mascara,eyeliner and matte lipstick. Though micellar water does not requires one to rinse water after use I do so just to be extra extra thorough

Ever since I have started using this I have noticed that I have less open comedones . Moreover my pimples have reduced considerable. Also my eyelashes look healthy and full ( no tugging means less eyelash fall)
This micellar water is really very gentle on the skin and my oily skin is behave a lot better with this makeup cleanser

Even though the price tag is a bit steep I am going to continue purchasing bioderma micellar water until I find some thing which works better or similar to this micellar water(I highly doubt that )

Essence The False Lashes Mascara Dramatic volume unlimited

I have been longing to try the innisfree microcara mascara for a very long time but its not easy to find original Korean makeup products in Pakistan so while I am still searching around for a suitable online store which ships Korean makeup and skincare products to Pakistan with a pocket friendly shipping I bought this essence mascara on a whim and luckily it has a very slim long brush

The mascara tube is very colorful and long and has a secure black cap. The mascara wand has a slim conical brush which is tapered at one end

The mascara has dry dry formula so it makes the lashes thick on one swipe. The tapered conical shape helps to reach the lashes on the inner corner of the eye with ease. Also the brush reduces smudging.

I also noticed how incredibly easy it was to apply mascara to my bottom lashes with this mascara. This mascara is not waterproof which is what I like because waterproof formulas can be such a pain to remove.

this mascara flaked slightly after 3hrs but it was not so noticeable or messy. I didnt experience any lash hair fall or irritation after using this. The formula is very gentle on the eyes and removes easily with soap and water.
It held the curl on my eyelashes well. This mascara is definitely buildable . I applied 3-4 coats on my eyelashes and they didn't clump or look spidery at all.

You can easily have the false lash effect with this mascara as it gives tons of volume and length to the eye lashes

Sweet touch England Matte Lipstick in shade 730

Sweet touch England is a local pakistani brand which has a lot of great makeup products in their arsenal. They are currently stocked up at makeup city and few other well known retailers across the country.

Today I am reviewing a matte lipstick 💄 by them which has a slight pearl finish. I have been attracted to metallic lipsticks for a fairly long time but no sadly when ever i tried out a metallic lipstick on my 👄 it turned out quite horrible. See the lipstick settled into the fines lines and made my lips look like dried up prunes. Ewww not the look I have in mind. But this matte lipstick by sweet touch England made my dream come true.

This lipstick has a matte finish so its slightly drying on the lips but the formula does not drags on the lips , rather the bullet glides with easy. The color is a beautiful slightly metallic pink/rosy shade. The color is opague so one swipe completely conceals the original lip color. I am happy to tell you guys that this lipstick does not settle into the fine lines at all. This has a good lasting power. 6-7 hrs without eating or drinking.
