Too Cool for School Art Class by Rodin 3-Color Face Shading Review

I have been shying away from contouring kits for the longest time ever because I honestly dont know much about contouring and most of the kits either are over priced, heavily pigmented or have a  warm orangy undertone which makes me look like an oompa loompa.

So when Joan Kim recommended this in one of her tutorials as a very beginner friendly product I was curious to try it out.

Too Cool For School is a Mid Range Korean Road side Shop Brand. They have a lot of popular and good skincare products under their name. This shading kit from Art class by Rodin range is one of their best sellers

The box is on the cuter side. Inside the shading compact is wrapped in a butter paper with rodin tapped to it. I tore the paper in my state of excitement so please excuse my thoughtless action.

The the compact is light weight and is adequately sized in both width and diameter. Inside their is nice mirror and a transparent plastic cover on top to protect shading powder. I found the pan size quite satisfying for swirling the brush. the variation of three shades gives room to creating a customized shading color for different skin tones.

I will describe the shades a bit so to give you a rough idea

The shade on left is matte beige color. This blends with my skin color and works nicely as a transition shade.
Middle shade has somewhat cool ashy tone to it so it looks more grey brown on skin .
The right most shade is warm brown in color but its not too Orangy or red just a hint of warmth to it.

When swirled together the color comes off as  brown. Personally I like using middle and left shade for shading my cheeks and nose. The right shade works great for shading  hairline and defining eye crease

The shades are not super pigmented so it gives a subtle shading effect without going over the top. The sheer / light color pay off gives room to error. You can basically never over do it which is good specially if you are looking for subtle contouring products or are a beginner to contouring/shading like me.

After practicing the technique of shading a couple of time I can now make my nose a bit pinched and tall. And make my large forhead a little less broad. All in one I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to every one as this lasts through out the day without fading. Has a really nice mirror, contains three different shades and has a lot of product for a fraction of price.

You can purchase this at jolse for 16.48$
