[Review] PONY EFFECT Glow Stay Cushion Foundation

The most expensive base product that I have ever purchased. I had the PONY EFFECT everlasting cushion foundation on my wishlist for so long . It is after all the number one, most upvotted and loved cushion foundation on reddit. But due to some unexplained circumstances my shade went quickly out of stock on all online stores and never came instock ever again.

It was one of those mindless scrolling on internet that I found Pony Effect Glow Stay Cushion Foundation . Now I have seen Edward Avila mention it briefly in his 2019 Favorite Makeup products video and I trust his reviews so I BOUGHT THIS 40$ cushion foundation. (Now that I have typed the price with my own hands I can see the damage this caused to my wallet )

I have oily /dehydrated skin with a few acne scars scattered on my face. I prefer dewy makeup in winters and prefer matte long lasting water based foundations in summers

This cushion comes with a refill . Plus it also comes with sun protection of SPF50+/PA+++

The packaging is what totally knocked off my socks. Its a very luxurious looking, reflective metallic magenta pink color compact. ( I cant explain how difficult it was to not get in the frame because of its reflective properties ). There is a really nice mirror inside moreover Pony added a special white puff which is very elastic and an upgraded version of the doughy puff. I personally liked the quality and performance of this puff. Its dense and blends the foundation pretty well

PONY EFFECT Glow Stay Cushion Foundation has buildable coverage to blur blemishes, evens skin tone while creating a natural sheen. With SPF50+ PA++++ to protect skin from UVA & B. The Blooming Powder infused helps control oil production and set the base makeup in place.

How to use:

Using the cushion puff, gently dab a moderate amount on the face along with skin texture.

This comes in a total of three shades. I am pretty sure that more colors will be added soon. I got this in shade 02 porcelain which is a yellow based 21 shade suitable for fair complexion

I applied this to my face with the puff included in the packaging. I really liked the yellow base. It worked with my skin color .the cushion has light to medium coverage which can be built with multiple applications. It has a very moisturizing feel to it so it is hydrating. I have noticed that  if you give this foundation some time to set . It settles into semi mattte finish because of the blooming powder.

I noticed a slight hint of darkening nothing too dramatic or noticeable.  What I really liked about this foundation in particular is that this really controls oil production. It didn't dry out my face like matte foundations and it didn't accentuate the sebum on my face either. My face did become slight oily after a four hours but compared to other foundations this holds up pretty well on it own

With a slight dusting of translucent powder on top this lasts for longer duration on the face. I can now see why Edward Avila added this to the best of the 2019 list. It is truly a remarkable cushion for oily/dehydrated skin folks. Everything from the packaging to formula is perfection. The only flaw is the expensive price tag. Luckily many Korea stores ofter this on 20-30% off discounted price so this can make it a little affordable.

Currently it is a available at selective korean online stores. I would totally recommend splurging on this bougie cushion foundation. It really is worth the extra money

Scented Candles: Hunza Candles

So I don't have a very established sense of smell but I do appreciate a well ventilated and good smelling environment. I have a unexplainable attachment to candles since childhood ( was I a moth in my previous life ? I don't know !! ) But I once followed a youtube tutorial on 'How to make your candles at home ' and melted a very expensive set of crayons. My parents never bought me another expensive stationary item after that.

It is so hard to get scented candles in Pakistan. Most of the imported candles from brands like Yankee or Bath and Body Works are sold at a price three times their original value.  ( A price that can't be justify with any sort of reasoning)

I found this brand on Instagram and after a bit of research I placed an order . I picked the two of their most popular scents i.e Lavender and Spiced Apple both of these are double wicked candles. I have noticed that jar candles are more expensive as compared to tower candles

Always trim the wick to 5 mm max/minDon’t burn your candle less than a hour or more than 2 hours

The Spiced Apple was in size medium and came packaged in a really nice glass jar. I was really pleased with the aesthetics. The candle itself looked really beautiful with that jelly red color.

Burn Time: 45-50 Hours
Weight: 260g
Wax: Premium Grade parasoy Wax
Wick: 100% Natural Fiber
Dimensions: 8cmx12cm

Note Profile:
Top: Cinnamon, Clove
Middle: Apple, Almond
Base: Pie Crust, Vanilla, Caramel

DESCRIPTION

The tantalizing aroma of a deliciously fresh donut made with apple cider, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.
Finely made with slightly spicy pepper and warm apple are rounded out with sweet lavender + Smokey tobacco. This fragrance is phthalate free and contains the essential oils of Cedar, Clove Cinnamon Cassia, and Lemon Peel.

To me this smells strongly of sweet candy and Apples the scent can be perceived even when candle is unlit. The scent engulfs the whole room within 10-15 mins after the candleg is lit. This is my favorite scent of the two . One thing I have noticed though is that the pepper in it can aggrevate sneezing spells. I  think I will enjoy this one more in winters

The second candle I bought from hunzacandles was  lavender scented.

Fragrance infused with natural essential oils including Lavender. Our Lavender fragrance is a unique, purifying and calming scent of lavender flowers.
Beyond its appealing aroma, lavender has been shown to help relieve insomnia, stress, and anxiety

Burn Time: 23-26 Hours
Weight: 190g
Wax: Premium Grade Parasoy Wax
Wick: 100% Natural Fiber
Dimensions: 7cmx7.5cm

I am not a fan of floral scents so initially this didn't go well with me. To me it smelled pungently of bitter herbs and men cologne but once I lit the candle a few times the scent  started to grow on me after a while. It is refreshing and soothing with a hint of forest like scent / wood maybe.

Note Profile:
Top: Bergamot, Lemon
Middle: Lavender
Base: Cedar

The smaller jars in my opinion don't have a very impressive packaging. The top lid was loose and I didn't like the quality. This candle has a lovely purple color with a bit of lavender frosty pattern running through

I would recommend you to try these if you like scented candles. These are pretty well made and most importantly hand poured. The prices are a bit steep for a local brand . So purchasing at the time of sale can help you save a few bucks

Would I buy these again ?  Yes I want to try more scents but for now I will give my ppor wallet a much needed break

Korean Glass Skin : Glowing Primers Comparison + Review

A collective review of some good korean primers that can help you achieve that translucent glowing skin with makeup.

I have oily/ dehydrated skin which leans towards dry side in winters and becomes a crazy oil field in summer . So my face in summer initially looks dewy but as the day goes on it becomes extremely greasy

Today I will be doing a comparison review of three makeup primers that have worked for my skin

VDL Lumilayer primer

I will start with VDL Lumilayer primer. This has been around for the longest time and is without any doubt the best-selling product of VDL . It is described as an illuminating primer with blue and red pigments to give a healthy glow to the face

Quantity 35

Price 15-17$

This is an emulsion but has a bit of that gel like property to it. So it's not deeply moisturizing. The blue and red pigments collectively give icy lavender sheen to the face. The particles are not big or chunky but you can definitely see the shimmer particles.

From my perspective this is a primer that works for all skin types. If you have dry skin then I recommend using an extra layer of moisturizer underneath. The packaging is luxe and beautiful. the bottle is constructed out of glass so it is not travel friendly. I recommend purchasing this from online Stores like Jolse / Yesstyle because you can get it at a really good price

Peach C Peach Glow Makeup Base

This is brand of popular Beauty vlogger from Korea Haneul . This particular primer is designed to smooth out pores and give a peachy glow to the face.

Price: 8$- 14$

Quantity: 35ml

The tube has a beautiful peach gradient effect. Its slim, beautiful and prefect for traveling. The product itself smells of peaches. The texture leans more towards a light weight cream and has a slight peach color to it . It's easy to blend into the skin .

I found this one to a tab bit more moisturizing than the VDL primer. This looks lilac when swatched on the hand/skin but once you apply foundation on top the tinge is replaced with a beautiful glow.

I have noticed that this indeed smooths out the skin and improves the appearance of pores. Usually highlighter and glitters tend to amplify any imperfections but the shimmer particles are really fine so they give a lit from within glow

Heimish Artless Glow Base SPF50+ PA+++

The only primer in today's review that works as a primer and a sunscreen. This is described as a luminous sun base to that gives a naturally glowing skin

Quantity: 40 ml

Price : 15-18 $

The packaging beautiful. This has a luxurious looking rose gold cap. The squeeze tube packaging is very convenient for traveling

Compared to all the other primers that I have mentioned this is very moisturizing to a point that you might call it a bit greasy/oily

This is one of the many reasons I prefer using this in winters under a matte foundation

This gives pearlscent finish to the skin. The shimmer particles reflect the light hence the glowing effect. I nearly out of this primer and despite my oily skin. I have enjoyed using this one a lot. This works as a 2 in product so I can totally skin my sunscreen. There is no white cast and it does not pill under foundation. I love to use this with my VDL Perfect Lasting Foundation. I get a beautiful dewy finish that lasts whole day. If you have dry skin you will be able to use this all year-long. For oily skin gals winter is the best time

So that wraps up my  comparison review. I hope you found this post helpful in some way.

[Review] Etude House Lucky Together Tom and Jerry Collection Part 2

So I am posting a second installment of my Etude House Lucky Together Tom and Jerry Collection. Today I will be reviewing a lip and cheek product

In honour of the Chinese New Year Etude House released a really cute Tom And Jerry Makeup Collection. ( this is year of the mouse after all )

Lucky Together Tom and Jerry Collection (Limited Edition)

This collection consists of
  1. Colorful Tattoo Tint – a lip tint that includes 4 limited edition shades
  2. Look At My Eyes – 10 eyeshadow shades in glitter and mattes finishes
  3. Two Tone Cheek Dome – a two toned cheek blush ( in 4 color combinations)
  4.  Soon Jung Lip Balm ( in 2 color combinations)
  5. Jerry’s Cheese Puff – a foundation application puff
  6. Lucky Together Bubble Body Wash Set
  7. Lucky Together Glow On Base Set
  8. Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream
  9. Moistfull Collagen Cream
  10. Moistfull Collagen Skin Care Set
  11. Colour My Brows
  12. Face Blur Set

ETUDE HOUSE LUCKY TOGETHER COLORFUL TATOO TINT

This came in four colors. The color range is pretty basic . The packaging is the cutest . It features a very happy Tom. The ears on the sides are made out of silicon . The combination of pink and grey looks really cute

A semi velvet lip tint with Tom and Jerry design.
Glides smoothly over lips for vivid color payoff.
Lightweight and tattoo-like formula offers an easy application.

The applicator of this liptint is pretty standard. The tint itself has a creamy slightly liquid consistency. I usually apply a bit of this tint in the centre of my lips and blend it with my fingers. I have noticed that lasts for around 4-5 hours . There is a slight stain left on the lips. The lip tint is moist so it does not enhance any dry patches on the lips

I got this in PK003 Run! Tom. The color from online swatches appears to be a pink MLBB shade but on my lips the color looked intense and bold. I can detect cool pink undertones mixed in with red color. The colors look very flattering on my complexion

ETUDE HOUSE LUCKY TOGETHER TWO TONE CHEEK DOME

Omg can you just look at that cute packaging. This reminds me of Happy with Piglet edition that Etude House released last year. The cute silicon ears on the sides are so freaking cute

A two-toned cheek blusher packed in dome shape, which is formulated with fine baked powder for a healthy-looking complexion.
Its two-toned color combination allows a more revitalized look.
Glides smoothly on your skin without smuding.

I found the 2 in 1 concept of this blush very convenient.  It combines a blush and highlighter in a single pot. I got this in shade OR202 Refreshing Ensemble which is a beautiful grapefruit color. This is powder type blush. The pigmentation is sheer which can be built with multiple application. I like sheer blushes as they add subtle definition to the face and this really meets my expectations

Jerry’s Cheese Puff – a foundation application puff

This makeup puff is made as the shape of Emmental Cheese - Jerry's soul food.
The pointed edge or surface can be ultilized for facial makeup.
It is easy to carry and keep with its cheese-shaped case.

It can be soaked with water for a moisturized facial makeup.

And lastly a cute cheese shaped makeup sponge honestly speaking this is too cute to use. So I guess I will be keeping it in pristine form on my collection

So that all for my Etude House Lucky together Collection review. Which product caught your interest in this collection ?

[Review] Oneoseven Oil In Gel Cleanser

I have tried a fair amount of skincare products from the brand 107 and I have enjoyed pretty much everything. I have been hoarding this in my skincare stash for quite some time and now that my life has become more and more hectic I decided to break open this 2 in 1 product so I could save a bit of time by skipping a skincare step

For reference I am in my early twenties and I have oily/dehyrated skin which breakouts ever now and then.

Oneoseven Oil In Gel is a gentle dual action cleanser that is powerful for removing makeup and dissolving skin impurities. The luxurious oil in gel texture glides on to skin and melts away even the stubbornest of makeup residue, and can be used to massage the skin. After rinsing, it leaves skin clean, soft, and moisturized feelings.

The packaging is very basic a very minimalistic plastic tube with a cap. I like 107  aesthetics in general. The chaga cleanser has a similar packaging too. What makes this stand out from the rest is its simple ingredients list . Yup there is that popular vinegar in the list.

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Purified Water, Sorbitan Stearate, Sucrose Laurate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sucrose Cocoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Vinegar

Scent wise it is is almost scent free ( I did detect a hint of oil/vinegar smell but I guess it is probably my imagination )

So I had a 2 in 1 kind of product concept in my because of its name ( oil in gel ) so I assumed this was an oil + gel cleanser but in reality it is actually an oil cleanser but in gel form. The texture is gel but omce you start massaging it into the skin this transforms into an oil like texture. Its very easy to work with and does a really good job of emulsifying makeup + sunscreen . I did face a little trouble removing waterproof mascara with this though.

On contact with water this washes off with a bit if balm like greasy residue. ( something similar to dove moisturizing soap bars ) . For an oily skin person like me, the residue didn't feel pleasant but once I followed it up with a foam cleanser, it washed off completely.  My mother on the other hand has dry skin and she liked the slight film left by the cleanser on her face. Her skin felt more soft post wash.

All in one I do like this cleanser. It works well as a first step cleanser and a small amount goes a long way. You can purchase this at Jolse.com , credithink or bemused korea.com

Etude House Lucky Together Tom and Jerry Collection Look At My Eyes

I like etude house eyeshadows in general so I already knew that this mono eyeshadow were going to be great.

Each eyeshadow was wrapped in plastic.
I got these four colors . I liked how they printed a cute cartoon the lid to add more details to the overall packaging. There is a nice balance of glitter, shimmer and matte shades. I picked mostly matte because that is the kind of eyeshadow formulation I like the best

PK015 Nibbles Tuffy : a nice pink base color . Matte and great for everyday use

PK016 Thomas Cat: a deeper pink to add more depth to the eye makeup. The formula is matte and can also be used as a blush

BR426 Jerry Mouse : a very basic matte brown color. Can be used as an eyeliner or define the outer eye corner

BR433 Jerry’s Cheese : a very beautiful bronze gold glitter shade. Really pops the whole eye makeup

Overall all the eye shadows are really smooth and can be applied with a brush and finger. I now wish that I got more eyeshadows from this collection

I also got ETUDE HOUSE’S LUCKY TOGETHER MY BEAUTY TOOL EYE SHADOW EMPTY PALETTE to add my eyeshadows later. I like the sturdy palette and the whole concept to create a customized palette of your choice. So far I haven't added any shadows to it yet. I do plan to do it in near future

Look forward to more reviews on blog n have a great day
