May Island is brand known for its marshmallow colored cleansing balls. I was drawn to this particular product because it contained Baking soda, AHA and BHA. This also reminds me of Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub in terms of packaging and the mechanism of action

The packaging is actually very unique ,about 12 pyramidal shaped sachets along with a pamphlet are enclosed in a transparent plastic cup. The small sachets makes these great for travelling / short trips . Each sachets contains 7g of product which is actually a lot for one time use. But you split this for multiple uses like I did or extend the scrub down the neck and chest if you are using this in the shower
the texture is like a white paste with small even granules. You can't differentiate the particle on naked eye examination but you can feel them when massaging the scrub onto the skin . Since the particles are minute they feel very gentle on the skin. Due to baking soda I was expecting this scrub fmto have a pungent smell but it smells citrusy to me
I have been using this twice a week and I have noticed that this deeply cleanses the pores. The weather has been awful for the past two months and I have been struggling to keep my skin acne free. I have noticed that this not only exfoliates the skin but also clears out clogged pores. I hax a bunch of raised bumps and congested pores along my nose and cheek area. After using this for two weeks straight the skin cleared out and looked smooth.
The scrub can leave you skin dry as it alkaline ( bakings soda is alkaline in nature) but its not worrisome if you follow it up with a hydrating toner or ampoule
Honestly speaking for my oily congested skin this has worked quite well. It also cleared up the blocked sweat glands that appear from excessive heat on my neck so I am really happy. I think these are really good as long as one does not over use these. If you have oily skin, and live in an area where you sweat a lot this is going to work so well in keeping your skin soft smooth and acne free
