[REVIEW] COSRX Sebum Centella Mineral Powder

Cosrx is one of my favourite skincare brands, I have tried their concealer ( will post a review on it someday ) and absolutely loved the intense coverage. Today I am reviewing a powder which was recently launched by the brand

Features
Sebum care - Controls the excess oil secretion without skin drawing
Smooth skins - Super fine mineral powder adheres to your skin lightly just like air, controls the excess sebum, leaves moisture to present smooth skin texture
Firm fixation - Outstanding sebum control prevents skin drawing and creasing of makeup
Light fit - Fine particles which contain mint extracts applied to your skin lightly and refreshingly.

Centella Asiatica & Rose Hip Extract mild formula allows even sensitive and dry skin to use safely

This powder is different from what is available in the market.

1. It contains Centella Asiatica so its not just a makeup product but also a skincare product which soothes the skin

2. Its so finely milled ( even beats innisfree powder honestly)

The packaging is minimal, resembles Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder in many ways, its small has a round puff for application and contains 5 gm of product. I personally like the cool mint green color. It looks so refreshing and beautiful in my makeup collection.

The powder has no scent whatsoever. This is a translucent powder meaning it won't leave any color on your skin. I have fair skin so I didnt notice any white cast but I think you wont face any problems as long as you are light handed with it.

Ingredients
Silica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Corn Starch Modified, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ethylhexylglycerin, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol

My preferred way of application is to use a dense powder brush. Tap some powder in the lid , then swirl my brush to pick up the product and gentle roll the bristles on my nose, forhead and chin. The puff which simes with the powder is good quality but it picks up a lot of product and I am not a fan of baking so I use brush. But  find the puff handy for packing powder on my scalp and hair when I am in hurry and want my hair to look fresh and clean

I have oily/ dehydrated skin in summers so  setting powder is a must have in humid and warm weather. Currently the weather in my city is still warm. I applied this to my face at 7 am and my T zone became slightly oily after 4 hrs. Normally the oil starts breaking through after 2hrs and looks really messy after 5hrs so I was surpried that It controlled sebum quite well. After blotting my face with a tissue paper my makeup didn't look patchy.

This powder works really well with the Wayne Goss method ( that is applying powder underneath your foundation to make it last longer). It doesn't pill up or exaggerate the texture of my skin. Compared to Innisfree Sebum powder this is definitely more mattifying. Its scent free so those of you who are sensitive to fragrance give this a go.
Personally I think this more suitable for warm, humid weather (when makeup does not lasts long) I prefer wearing a little glowy makeup in winter so dusting this all over my face can be a little too much. Still I use this sparingly on my nose and forehead to prevent it from looking greasy.

Cosrx suggest using this powder as deodorant and as a substitute for dry shampoo.I haven't used this as a deodorant yet but let me assure you that this is such an affordable alternative to dry shampoo. Not only it absorbs excess oil from the scalp. It also adds volume to the hair.

I have found a Holy Grail powder to replace my Innisfree No sebum powder

Cosrx No Sebum Powder can be purchased at Jolse at a discounted price.
