Hi,
today I will be posting a much awaited update of my current skincare routine. As you all mightbe aware I test out a lot of skincare and makeup. So I don't have a constant routine but for the past three months due to significant changes in my skin I am forced to stick to tried and tested products for my acne. I was diagnosed with cystic acne two months ago and Propionibacterium acnes is one of the very picky bacteria that doesn't respond well to many antibiotics so I was left with very little choice and had to eventually take the skin drying route. While that did help with my acne. It totally damaged my skin barrier to a point that my skin stung every time I tried to apply skincare or any other product.
It look a lot of trial and error to figure out what would work for my skin without aggregating/irritating it further
I will start off with Cleansers
Previously I was using Innisfree Apple seed oil cleanser (which I bought on my birthday) but it sadly caused breakouts and aggravated blackheads on my face so I replaced it with ths Mizon King's Berry Cleansing Oil and thankfully it is working for my skin type. This oil has a very light water like consistency and it easy to spread. I usually take two pumps to fully dissolve/emulsify my sunscreen . It washes off easily with water but I like to follow up with foam cleansers just for personal satisfactions.
Next is RoundAround Foaming Green Tea cleanser. This is oliveyoung in-house brand and one of the bestselling cleansers in korea. The texture is gel like and with a little bit of water you can create a lot of foam . I like this. It is gentle and does not strip moisture from the skin
The Sedum Essence from Celimax is one of the hidden gems from the brand. This has a beautiful bouncy texture and works wonders as a skin pack. More people need to talk about this product
I have posted a lot of updates regarding my skin condition. one thing that helped me tremendously with PIH and sebum Tiam VitaB3 source. This contains 10% Niacinamide and and 2% Arbutin which is great for PIH
I have also added Paula's Choice liquid BHA Exfoliant. This contains 4% BHA to reduce sebum and unclog pores. I use this around three times a week on average and this is helping tremendously with new breakouts.
One of my favorite non skincare product which has become an essential part of my skincare routine is this jar candles from Honey I am home. I love this scent in Holiday it is nostalgic, comforting and delicious at the same time
Since my eyelashes are falling out again in clumps I have decided to add an eyelash serum to my routine from Benton. I haven't noticed any new growth so far but thankfully this has stopped my eyelashes from falling out temporarily
Klavuu nourishing lip sleeping mask is ny go to lipbalm these days. It smells kike vanilla cake. I use this day and night to keep my chapped lips hydrated and smooth. A little goes a long way. Definitely worth the buy
Another honorable mention here is the 3 min green tea pack from Innisfree. I use this in the morning to prep my face before makeup. The round sheets adhere to the face easily and add a pujche of instant hydration to my face. You can also pop this in the fridge for extra cooling effect
And lastly we have these sunscreen Japanese skincare /makeup brand Canmake. I usually alternate between these two variants one gives tone up effect while other one is sheer and is very lightweight. I totally understand the hype surrounding Japanese sunscreens..they are indeed super lightweight and easy to use on day to day basis
So this wraps up my skincare routine . What are your favourite products in this bunch
