[Review] The FACE Shop Ink Lasting Foundation Glow

This is the Glow version of the multi award winner and best selling Ink Lasting Foundation  by THE FACE SHOP. 

As I much as I wanted to try that particular foundation I couldn't be cause the shade that I specifically want is always out of stock.

Features
A glowing skin with natural shine.
Contains high-gloss oil and shimming powder. It helps express smooth skin makeup and lasts for a long time

This comes in 5  shades: V103, V201, V203, N201 & N203. The V shades lean towards the pink side while the N has yellow under tones to it.  I decided to go with the N one this time around as I have noticed that yellow under tones work better for my skin

THE FACE SHOP's Ink Lasting Foundation Glow has a frosted 30ml bottle with a glossy black cap with closes with a satisfying click. The foundation has a pump mechanism which gives control over the product

This has floral scent , the foundation itself is very thin and runny. It took about a pump and a half to cover my whole face. As the name implies this leaves a moist and dewy finish on the skin. It does not feel heavy or greasy but more like a moisturizer taking its time to sink in. The sheen from the foundation gives a healthy look to the face. This blends easily and covers all the imperfections easily. The coverage is on the medium side but it is definitely buildable

Since my skin is dehydrated at the moment. This worked really well on my skin. One of the best things about glow foundations is that they smooth out any texture on the face. Moreover this balanced out the dry parts on my face

The lasting duration is what caught me by surprise. Since it is a glowy foundation I expected this to wear off fast but this remained on my face even after 5 hrs. Moreover it looked better and smoother with time unlike matte foundations which accentuate texture and dry patches on my skin. I didn't notice much creasing around the nose or the eye area

Since I have oily skin/dehydrated the sebum did seep through and was prominent on my T zone area. I used blotting paper to get rid of the sebum and it looked fine. I think if you have dry skin this will work great on its own but for people who have oily to combination skin loose powder on top works best to seal the foundation.

Overall I am impressed with foundation as the color matches my skin perfectly. It does not oxide after some time and gives an illusion of healthy skin without looking overly dewy or greasy. Since its summer here I plan to mix this with my matte foundation for a bit of glow and wear this on its own when its winters

[Review] SHISEIDO SENKA Speedy Perfect Whip Moist Touch

I will admit this, the crazy fluffy foam shown in the commercial was what drew me in about this product. I pictured myself cuddling a  cloud of bubbles. ( my imagination is becoming wilder by every passing day )

Despite mixed views regarding foaming cleansers , I just can't part with foam. And Shiseido Senka’s Speedy Perfect Whip Foam promises nothing but foam , heaps of it.

 This is Shisedo's iconic foam cleanser. I am sure many of you might have seen it mentioned in some skincare post on instagram

Features
Cleanse your skin perfectly and quickly with the tight and elastic bubbles.Moisturizing ingredients in the silk essence and double hyaluronic acid moisturize the skin.Completed skin stimulation test - reduced skin stimulation for the weak and sensitive skin.

 The packaging is eye-catching blue color with a nice pump to dispense the foam. I wouldn't take this with me on a trip because of the size but I can guarantee you that this will last a really long time on my bathroom shelf because of the quantity

 I don't have any litmus paper at hand but many people online claim this to be very alkaline ( like over 7 pH)
I have mentioned before that alkaline cleansers are bad for the skin but if you follow up with an acidic toner ( skin pH adjusting toners ) it minimizes the damage

The foam is rich / dense . And it lathers really well too. This makes the skin squeaky clean. So the skin feel dry. ( it is actually very satisfying in humid and hot weather)
Personally I am okay with the alkaline nature of this cleanser as I use an acidic toner in my skincare routine anyway. I think this is some thing that will work best for oily skin, hot humid weather. I haven't noticed any irritation or breakout with this product which is quite a relief

[Review] Son & Park Beauty Water

This is by no mean a newly launched  product but it one of the most popular cleansing water of 2016. When I received this bottle my expectations were high because of the positive reviews and hype that surrounds this product.

This is a 60 ml deluxe size bottle. The packaging is simple. If you live you in Pakistan you might have noticed that this resembles pre-made  oral rehydration solution bottle for children. Since the bottle didn't come with any details, directions or ingredients list I had to look up for all this information online. The full size bottle comes with all the information so you don't have to worry much

The ingredients list is probably longer than my grocery shopping list :

when using conventional toner, and toning and moisturizing to make the next step easier. Contains a full range of naturally derived ingredients to make your skin look lively and vibrant without irritation

According to the description this is '' Jack of all Trades '' kind of product. It acts a cleansing water, as a chemical exfoliator, and a toner.

I personally used this as a cleansing water because i already have a toner in my routine that I enjoy a lot. A lot of people voiced their concern regarding alcohol content so I was a bit wary luckily this didn't cause any reaction or breakouts on my face.

The scent is fresh with a hint of herbs to it. This removed make from my face pretty easily. The best part was that this left my skin soft and smooth. Honestly I cant find any fault with this product. It is indeed a good cleansing water. If you dont like cleaning oils I recommend you to give this a try.

[Review] Peripera Ink The Airy Velvet Stick #06 Daily Rose

I have tried the Airy Ink Velvet by Peripera and believe me its one of best lip tints I have tried.  Peripera recently launched few lip products this spring and Ink Airy Velvet Stick is one of them .

The shade range consists of 8 colors. According to the swatches most of the colors look similar to one another. The shade range  mainly focuses on orange, red and pinks. As the ombre trend is still going strong these lipsticks are meant to be worn as gradient look

Features
Fluffy and soft marshmallow complex texture containing marshmallow root extract.
Fluorescent spring MLBB colors with the pigmentation and tenacity of ink.
Expresses fresh and smooth volume as if you used a blurring filter.

The Ink Airy Velvet Sticks come in color coded tubes which is really good as you can easily locate your favorite shade. The quantity 3.6g is slightly more than an average lipstick 3.4g. The tube is made out of plastic and has a velvet like feel to it .

I got this in shade 06 Daily Rose . To me this comes off as chilly red color with a hint of orange to it. The color leans towards warmer side . Since the color is a few shades shades darker than my natural lip color it really enhances my complexion and looks nice with my skin color

This looks really matte in the packaging but I was so surprised to see this glide smoothly on my lips. It smooths out the lines on the lips and looks really vibrant. The finish feels somewhat powder like or more like a pore minimising primer /silicon . It is by no means uncomfortable. If you have tried Airy Ink Velvet by Peripera you will be able to relate to my description better. ( it has a similar finish as the lip tint )

This lasts for 4-5 hrs on the lips. The color transfer on touch to mug easily. The best part is that like Airy Ink Velvet this leaves  a stain on the lips so even if the lipstick has worn off , the stain is still there.  Moreover it does not suck moisture from my lips or enhance cracks/dry patches.
Overall I love this stick formulation a lot. It may not last as long as my other matte lipsticks but the color and presentation has totally won me over

[Review] SOME BY MI Snail Truecica Miracle Repair Serum

If you are a part of skincare community you might have noticed that this particular serum caused quite an uproar on the social media because many people found the video posted by the brand misleading and inaccurate

I got this because I trust snail secretions for skin healing and moisturizing also because somby mi miracle toner actually acted as a miracle for my acne though I don't have any deep pitted acne scars . [REVIEW] Unicharm Silcot Uruuru Sponge Facial Cotton Pads

I am sure for many of you cotton pads is one cosmetic product that receives less attention. but do you know? A lot of cotton pads soak toners more than it is needed and you end up running out of product fast

I have tried a fair amount of cotton pads branded and non branded. In my opinion the ones that preformed well often cost over 10$

My main problems with cotton pads is that
1. They fall apart into small pieces easily
2. Leave lint on face which later irritates eyes
3. Rough texture which feels harsh on skin
4. Pad soaks up a lot of toner/ essence

Features
It gives out more than twice as much lotion as silcot. very little lotion stays in the puff.
It can be used for pack by separating a puff into two sheets.
Curved design easily fits the contour of the eye area.

Unicharm Silcot Uruuru Sponge Facial Cotton Pads are housed in a thin rectangular blue box with a nice close mechanism which keeps dust from settling onto the pads. You must have noticed that the pads have a different shape than conventional cotton pads. The have a soft curve whic easily fits under the curve of the eyes. So those of you who frequently apply toner packs on the face this is a really good choice.  Its says 40 sheets on the box but they can be separated to create 2 sheets so that's basically 80 pads in a single box . Unlike other cotton pads these can be stretched. The texture of the cotton pad feels like felt /spongy on touch but once you drench it with toner it become soft and smooth like a cloth

Though my preferred way to apply toners is to pat it on my skin with hands, I use cotton pads to apply toners containing AHA, BHA and lotion on my skin. Due to its l felt like material this reduces the product wastage. I also like that this does not break apart of leave cotton bits on the face.
I really like these thin cotton pads and would purchase them again in future

[Review] COSRX Low pH Centella Cleansing Powder

Powder washes have been around for quite sometime but for some reason I wasn't particularly drawn to the idea of powder cleanser. However all of this changed when i tried a small sample of powder cleanser.

This is Cosrx's latest releases and the centella part was the charm which piqued my interest

CosRX Centella Cleansing Powder comes in a rather unusual packaging. Instead of a regular plastic bottle these come in individually packed 30 cute small pods with a certain ratio (0.4 g ) of product already assigned in each pod. This might be ideal for people who travel a lot but for regular everyday use I find the packaging to be a bit wasteful.

The direction are simple just add powder to your palm . Mix it with water and apply it to the face. In terms of lather it is minimal. (Very fine and subtle) due to the ingredient list expected this to have a faint scent lf centella but its completely scent free

This does not exfoliate as the powder dissolves completely so you I personally didn't notice any physical exfoliation. This is to be used as second cleanser as its mild. I personally like this gentle cleanser , I also enjoyed the powder aspect of it. My only wish is that cosrx would change the packaging to some thing more environmentally friendly
