BotaVita Cleansing Butter Review

 BotaVita is an environment conscious Japanese skincare brand that creates silicone free, mineral oil free, paraben free, alcohol free skincare. The brand embodies the concept of gentle and effective skincare. I recently tried their popular cleansing butter and here are my thoughts

BotaVita Cleansing Butter is a soft balm cleansing butter with highly moisturizing Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter, and six white flower essences. The soft, butter-like melting texture, gently melts makeup while providing hydration.

The packaging is very minimalist a very basic flat white jar. No fancy design and no spatula . Overall I like the design. I expected the jar to be leak proof but for some odd reason the butter kept ooozing out from the sides in liquefied form. So that was a bit of a bummer. But then I don't blame the brand entirely. The weather was freaking 108F/ 43C and a lot of things were melting. 

The product was in a semi molten form. Melted Butter ? Like I have said before the weather was hot so it was natural for the butter to melt. Even my lipsticks deformed because of the temperature. The thing which immediately brightened my mood was the scent beautiful heavenly scent if wild orchids. So rich and luxurious. The brand describes this as Delicate scent of Gardenia. Even after washing my face with water the scent lingered for some times. According to the brand there is no need to double cleanse. I did tested out this claim by wiping my face with micellar water and the cotton wipe was clean , no makeup residue. I personally do a double cleanse anyways just for my own satisfaction but you can skip. 

This is safe for eyelash extension. I can't say much since I dont have any extensions on but the one thing that I can vouch for is that this doesnt irritate the eyes or dry out the skin. I couldn't remove korean water proof mascara with this but everything else just comes off easily without much effort. I didn't notice any new breakouts post usage. Currently it is chilling in my fridge but once the weather becomes colder I will be making this a part of my daily skincare routine

CLIO Kill Lash Mascara Remover Review

 My favorite makeup item has to be mascara. I just can't get enough of it. I have around 15 tubes of mascaras open right now . I have tried multiple korean mascara's and overall enjoyed using them too but one problems I ave faced is that, they are so hard to remove that I was forced to stop  using them altogether. I have used special designated eye makeup removers, oil cleansers, balm cleansers but still there is always a bit of residue left and I end up loosing eye lashes  post removal

* HOW TO USE

After applying remover on the eyelashes with mascara in a sweeping motion, apply the remover with the bent brush on the front, back and under the eyelashes in detail. 

After a short moment, lightly wipe the molten mascara clean with a cotton pad or a tissue.After wiping off the residue on the brush, store the brush in the container. 

Packaging resembles a mascara tube. A long wand with a silicon/rubber mascara comb at the end. The brush is flexible and can be easily maneuvered around the corner of the eyes. Each tube contains 11g of product

I applied the toughest/ most water resistant / curling korean mascara I had in my makeup stash. And by the end of the day proceeded to remove it from my eyelashes. The process was easy. Just run the silicone brush applicator through the eyelashes. Wait a minute ir two and gently massage the product into the lashes to emulsify the mascara. Then wash it off with water or use a wet wipe . 

I was really shocked how effortless and easy it was to remove the mascara in just one swipe. My lashes looked clean and healthy. The remover didn't irritate my eyes ( no burning sensation) and it was very easy to remove, just plain water and it was off.

I made the mistake of not wipping off the residual mascara from the silicone brush applicator the first time but after reading the instructions I now wipe the applicator with a tissue every time I use it.

I have  already ordered multiple tubes of this mascara remover because this has solved my biggest problem. now I can freely try all the toughest  most water resistant asian mascaras without any worries

KEEP COOL Soothe Bamboo Serum Cleanser Review

Keep Cool launched a really cool product this month to knock the socks off your feet . It is nothing short of extraordinary . This is my first time hearing about a serum cleanser.

A gel-type cleansing gel infused with 10% Bambusa Vulgaris Water to moisturize skin, leaving a refreshing feeling. Contains Centella Asiatica Extract to strengthen the skin barrier to protect skin from external aggressors, as well as Jojoba Seed Oil and Cocoa Extract to prevent moisture loss and rejuvenate skin. The dense bubbles help remove skin impurities for clean skin. Suitable for sensitive skin.

I really appreciate the slightly frosted / Clear squeeze tube packaging. Makes it more recycle friendly and ofcourse hygienic. I love the sturdy flip overall the aesthetics are so on point

Coming to the product itself it looks like maple syrup or treacle. Texture is viscous and looks so inviting and delicious ( still thinking about food ) thanks to its rich amber color . Since it is serum cleanser it flows easily out of the tube so you have to careful when dispensing the product out as you can accidentally spill and loose product

This cleanser contains 10% of bamboo water extracts to nourish and moisturize the skin. The Jojoba seed oil is non comedogenic and really good for skin as it quite similar to our skin natural oils. I expected this to have refreshing scent of some sort but it is completely scent free ( rejoice my sensitive skin friends)..Another thing which caught me off guard was the rich dense bubbles. I didn't expect this to foam at all but it was pleasantly surprised by the foam and bubbles. 

I have been using this daily along with Bamboo cleansing water and Bamboo serum from Keep Cool and I have noticed that I didn't get any new pimples with this minimal skincare routine. It is good at removing sebum and dust from the face ( I am not sure if it good enough for removing makeup on its own. Honesty I am terrified of leftover makeup residue on my skin . 

But overall my skin feel soft post usage. Moreover it didn't strip moisture from skin or trigger new acne on ny face. I see myself stocking up more backs ups of this cleanser soon as it is gentle and effective

With the constant mask wearing there has been a rise in mask wearing induced acne, so AXIS-Y decided to formulate a mugwort mask pack which would solve this issue. This wash-off pack is enriched with 61% Mugwort Extract to soothe irritations, unclog pores and cleanse skin. Use this 2-3 times a week to keep the inflammation away, so you can wear your face mask without worrying about another acne breakout.

I love the compact plastic tub. I like the size and how the mask is filled to the very top

This has a nice pleasant herb scent to it. 

Unlike many clay mask I have tried in the past, the texture is very creamy and easy to blend. There are soft rounded Adzuki beans which not only are a lot smoother and safer for skin but also 100% biodegradable which it safer for environment. The ingredients list is pretty long but it contains tons of anti oxidants and skin calming ingredients

While we are discussing textures, it is worth mentioning that the green color is obtained from the plants used in manufacturing this product. It washes of easily without much effort and I haven't noticed any residual oil film on my face post application.

My Experience:

Normally I love to apply a generous layer of Aloe Gel to my irritated skin but now this has bagged that number one spot on my skincare shelf. I have been applying this twice a week on all the angry red spots and this works like a charm. I have noticed visible reduction in redness on face, my skin feels a lot more clearer , pores look smaller and my skin feels soft and smooth. Just 10 mins is all you need to have better skin. 

I will be stocking up more of these Amazing wash off masks because it is not easy to come by wash off clay masks that are non drying, makes the skin soft and smooth and helps with soothing irritated  skin

[Review] IPKN Personal Mood Palette Warm Pressed

 Today I am reviewing an everyday use palette. All the colors are neutral/ earth toned and dont overwhelm the face. 

I have been eyeing IPKN for a really ling time, I find finally got the opportunity to try a few products and share my review. Unfortunately,  during transit one of the eyeshadow popped out of the pan and caused mess but a few drops of rubbing alcohol and several Qtips resuscitated the palette to a better condition. 

Palette as hot as the Summer Heat!

IPKN New York launches its take on the warm tone-specific make-up with this 9-pan palette filled with shades suitable for warm skin tones. Perfect for daily use.

This is a 9 pan Palette, the colors are soft . There is a variety of matte, satin and pearl shades. Instead of giving names to all shades that none of us probably remember . IPKN took a practical step of numbering the eyeshadows 

Shade 01: Is a staple cream shade we all need to brighten, set and blend eyeshadow

Shade 02: Is a Pearlscent pale peach color . Very beautiful and innocent

Shade 03: A beautiful innocent pink shade. With a slight sparkles running through the formula

Shade 04: Is a Sparkly Champagne Color . This is also a staple shade that works for all skin tones and looks beautiful both on the lid and at the corner of the eyes 

Shade 05:  A staple warm mauve shade , great to define the lower lash line or as a crease shade 

Shade 06: A light brown shade closer to milk chocolate . Warm and beautiful

Shade 07: A coffee color eyeshadow to emphasize the corner of the lids 

Shade 08: Sparkly Brown shade with gold abd copper glitter particles. Something to add spice to a regular smoky look

Shade 09: A solid black shade . A little patchy but works great as an eyeliner

The colors are all soft and pigmented. They are easy to blend as well. These eyeshadows have malleable texture so they can shatter easily. I didn't notice any chalky or patchy shades. The colors are perfect for everyday use. Overall I am quite pleased with this warm toned eyeshadow pallete which can be used all year long

[Review] GRAYMELIN Galactocera Re-Turn Sun Block SPF50+ PA++++

 I haven't reviewed any sunscreens in a really long time because I have around 8-9 sun screens open at the moment which I need to use up fast before they expire

GRAYMELIN is a new brand for me. I was oblivious to their existence until Joohky introduced me to the brand 

Product Description

A moistful daily sun cream which perfectly protects skin against harmful UV rays leaving a fresh finish without any sticky feeling or white cast. Formulated with 6 botanical ingredients, soothes and protects sensitive skin from external harmful elements. Contains Galactomyces Fermented Filtrate and Ceramide to brighten up skin tone and improve skin moisture barrier.

The packaging is simple, a very bright yellow squeeze tube with a black cap. I had a bright backdrop in my cupboard which matched the bottle perfectly so I used it for the photography .

I peeled off the silver sealed and the first thing I noticed was the citrus scent mixed in with green tea. According to the ingredients listut does contain green tea extracts. 

The texture of the sunblock is what blew my mind. It is cream like but very light . Weather is currently hot and humid in my city and I am avoiding all kind of heavy moisturizers, foundation and primer but this felt so pleasant and cooling on skin . This does leaves a white cast but since the texture is light and moisturizing it is easy to blend into the skin. I wore this under makeup and it didn't pill or made my skin look flaky. 

Keeping in mind the recent sunscreen controversy I looked up for ingredients list online and found out that this contains various Sun Filters like Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate , Zinc Oxide, Homosalate, BisEthylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine and Octocrylene. That is five filters in total. Not really sure if this is adequate for a physical sunscreen but I personally didn't get any sunburn /tan when using this.

Peripera Ink Mood Matte Tint Review

 I hope you guys are not fed up with my lippie reviews these days because I have a lot of lip products reviews lined up 

Peripera Ink Mood Matte Tint were launched recently. The packaging is different then their usual ink bottles. I love how they color coded the plastic tubes to the actual product inside. Makes it super easy to locate in the lipstick drawer. 

Vivid color survival due to thin application on the lips and little smudging on masks. A comfortable mood without needing any more description. Matte blur lips from the center of the lips to the edge with clear, refreshing blur correction without any stuffy feelings

Packaging is very chic. I love the semi opaque lids and the velvet like plastic tube. The sponge tip applicator has a curve which hugs your lips so that the tint coats your lips evenly and you don't need any additional tools for making it look uniform

I am a bit scared of matte lip products because they make my lips look small and ugly like dried up prunes. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that these didn't have that dreaded dry and gross liquid lipstick texture ( the kind which enhances every crevice on the lip).  These turned out to be more like their airy tints. Velvety, blurring and very comfortable. The shade range is pretty good to , no neon shades

01 Peach Puree : beautiful milky coral shade great for using as a base color

02 Ballet Pink : Unique plum pink, something you don't see often 

03 Oatmeal Rose beautiful dried rose color

04 Soft Ceadarwood : a very warm orange lip color

05 Ginger Red : beautiful vintage red looks good on all skin tones

These do smudge a little but most of the lip tint remains on the lips. I love wearing these on daily bases as they are very vibrant,  hydrating and soft matte.
