Innisfree Capsule Recipe mask Seaweed Review

I contemplated placing this mask in my shopping cart a million times and finally bought it,

Product Description:
A capsule recipe pack containing Sea Weed to improve your complexion. It heats your skin naturally with the Sea Weed. It exfoliates dead skin cells for clear skin. It is enriched with sizzling formation which provides skin solutions. It is a massage pack which contains Sea Weed to heat and exfoliate your skin.

Quantity: 10ml ( good enough to be used 5-7 times)

Packaging:
Comes in this cute little small tub which has a foil on top as protective seal.the best part is the plastic cover on top this prevents the product from drying out and helps it to store in fridge for later use. I placed mine in a zip lock bag for extra care.

Prior to this I haven't used any skincare product containing seaweed. So I was super curious about the texture and the results I was going to obtain.

This has a really gloopy green jelly or maybe Ogre boogers :) like texture with minute particles for scrubbing.
I used a spatula to apply this to my face but you can definitely use your fingers ( what suits you best ).

The mask applied a little evenly (think and thin at some places so I used my fingers to spread it out. It heats up a little bit on application which trust me feels so good in winter ☺. This feels like glycerin a lot and my suspicion was correct because glycerin is #1 ingredient on the list

I left this on for about 20 minutes and then washed it off using circular motion with warm water.

Results:
Smooth soft skin did this brighten my complexion?? No really but this feels so  soothing on the skin. I enjoyed the whole experience and would  purchase this again.
I am very curious about other variants in the range. Have you tried any of these capsule masks? What are your thoughts ?

Trendy Pakistani Bridal Dresses Collection

Today's post is on Bridal Dresses, Since many of you might be attending a few wedding event's in these coming months or perhaps might be getting married soon ( some of my friends are). Here is a guide on how to look best dressed without much effort.

Thankfully Pakistani bridal fashion has changed considerably in terms of colors. Back in the day ( my mother's time ) wearing colors like black or grey was not considered auspicious but now thankfully you can pretty much wear any color you want. The designs remain same with a little bit of modern edge to them.

I will start with my personal favourite the Anarkali dress, these look graceful and flattering on every one and are easy to style. You can either choose one with below the knees length or go all glam with the floor lenght anarkali. Unlike other cultures  Pakistani Bridal Dresses  boast of grandeur and modesty at the same time. The intricate embroidery along with pearls is what makes the dresses stand out.

Churidar shalwar dress which is a fushion of casual and formal emphasizes the legs and looks veey feminine. I find this type perfect for petite girls as it balances out the body shape quite well. You can purchase these Pakistani Clothes Online these days which are pre-stitched.

A wedding is incomplete without a lehnga (The traditional bridal outfit). These days you can easily find lehngas in colors other than red with heavily embroidered hem or simple sequined one with frills for a feminine touch.

Another popular choice amomg women these days is Saree. Pretty much every wears this on reception. This beautiful 9 yards of cloth emphasizes the silhouette and looks mesmerising. The only thing which is worrisome is draping.

You cannot finish the wedding fashion guide with out including the Black Wedding Dresses . Black might be a color reserved for groom and men at weddings in past but not any more. After the color was introduced at one of the Pakistani Bridal  Couture Week . It has become quite a popular choice among women. Be it a pant style trendy shalwar suit,  A black wedding gown or flared gold black embroidered peplum. Black is the new trend and is no longer considered a taboo at weddings.

For those of you who still feel that black is a little out of their comfort zone try Blue Wedding Dresses. The variation in shades and contrasts with blue is endless. Plus the color compliments all skin colors and looks great on everyone.

I hope this has helped you in some way when selecting a dress for wedding. If you are short on time or not satisfied by the dress stiched by tailor I highly recommend you to shop for wedding dress online. You are seriously going to be surprised by the choices available these days. Incase you are afraid about the fitting of prestiched dresses you can buy  unstiched formal dresses online instead.

[Review] EYENLIP BLACK SNAIL ALL IN ONE REPAIR CREAM

So I have tried multiple snail products but this one is the only product which has given me the true snail slime experience, its oddly satisfying and very moisturizing.

Feature
1. Black snail slime extracts firms the skin, Aqua Shea Butter ingredient creats moisture barrier
on the skin.
2. It has adenosine which improves skin elasticity and niacinamide which brightens skin.
3. It contains natural raw materials from 5 different flowers;Tulip, violet, daisy, iris and bitter orange-
blossom to effect on antioxidation, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing.
4. eyeNlip’s exclusive sticky texture fills up moisture inside the skin and creates moisture barrier.

Made with 74%  Snail secretion filtrate  obtained from black snail this promises of providing vitality and moisture to the skin.
Other notable ingredients are adenosine, niacinamide and black soy bean extracts to reduce wrinkles and brighten skin.

Starting with the packaging I am so happy with 100 gm of product, this tub is seriously going to last me a really long time.

About the product:
First off this has a floral scent (must be because if the floral extracts added to the cream). The scent disappears after few minutes on application. The texture is gel like  and forms strings just like snail slime. It spreads easily and absorbs quickly into the skin without any residual tacky/ sticky finish. The formula is really light weight and feels nice on the skin personally I prefer using this both at day and night time because of its pleasant formula.

This just like hyaluronic acid plumps skin, during my usage I haven't noticed any breakouts clogged pores. The flaky patches which come with cold weather have become less noticeable as well.  Snail mucin is one if the popular skin healing ingredient so far I don't have any active pimple or wound to test out this theory but I will update you guys in future.

Personally I am really impressed with this cream as it sits well under makeup and can be used at both day and night time.
You can purchase this on EYENLIP BLACK SNAIL ALL IN ONE REPAIR CREAM on Beautynetkorea website here

PURITO DEFENSE BARRIER pH Cleanser Review

When I first started out with skincare the face cleanser I used was very alkaline, it damaged my skin barrier which led to breakouts

Today skincare brands are aware about the importance of maintaining skin pH
I am reviewing a very gentle pH 5.5 cleanser by a brand no other than Purito.
A combination of botanical extracts this is suitable for all skin types ( including sensitive skin)
Purito is a 10 free brand so its free from artificial fragrances, SLS, and parabens.

Packaging

It comes in a white squeeze tube. the packaging is well made and the combination of white and blue looks so serene and calm. This holds 120 ml of product in it.

Ingredients:
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexaanediol, citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Allantoin, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Centella Asiatica Extact, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Royal Jelly Extract, Eithylhexylglycerin, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA

this cleanser has a somewhat runny gel like texture. It foams up easily on contact with water and forms medium sized bubbles/foam. Since the consistency is like water I recommend squeezing some cleanser on   the palm of your hand  to create foam then applying it to your face. The scent is herbal, with a slight bitter note to it. I personally prefer herbal scent more as compared to artificial ones
This does a great job of removing dirt and sebum off the face, it doesn't leaves ''the dry, squeaky clean'' feel after washing nor does it leaves the skin feeling parched like some cleansers do.
It also removes makeup from the face, minus stubborn mascara and some flaky bits of liquid lipstick which has settled into the crevices on my lips
Personally like all the purito products I have tried, this is equally good. Purito has once again done a great job creating a great cleanser at such an amazing price

[REVIEW] COSRX Sebum Centella Mineral Powder

Cosrx is one of my favourite skincare brands, I have tried their concealer ( will post a review on it someday ) and absolutely loved the intense coverage. Today I am reviewing a powder which was recently launched by the brand

Features
Sebum care - Controls the excess oil secretion without skin drawing
Smooth skins - Super fine mineral powder adheres to your skin lightly just like air, controls the excess sebum, leaves moisture to present smooth skin texture
Firm fixation - Outstanding sebum control prevents skin drawing and creasing of makeup
Light fit - Fine particles which contain mint extracts applied to your skin lightly and refreshingly.

Centella Asiatica & Rose Hip Extract mild formula allows even sensitive and dry skin to use safely

This powder is different from what is available in the market.

1. It contains Centella Asiatica so its not just a makeup product but also a skincare product which soothes the skin

2. Its so finely milled ( even beats innisfree powder honestly)

The packaging is minimal, resembles Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder in many ways, its small has a round puff for application and contains 5 gm of product. I personally like the cool mint green color. It looks so refreshing and beautiful in my makeup collection.

The powder has no scent whatsoever. This is a translucent powder meaning it won't leave any color on your skin. I have fair skin so I didnt notice any white cast but I think you wont face any problems as long as you are light handed with it.

Ingredients
Silica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Corn Starch Modified, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ethylhexylglycerin, Rosa Canina Fruit Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Mentha Arvensis Leaf Extract, Glyceryl Caprylate, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol

My preferred way of application is to use a dense powder brush. Tap some powder in the lid , then swirl my brush to pick up the product and gentle roll the bristles on my nose, forhead and chin. The puff which simes with the powder is good quality but it picks up a lot of product and I am not a fan of baking so I use brush. But  find the puff handy for packing powder on my scalp and hair when I am in hurry and want my hair to look fresh and clean

I have oily/ dehydrated skin in summers so  setting powder is a must have in humid and warm weather. Currently the weather in my city is still warm. I applied this to my face at 7 am and my T zone became slightly oily after 4 hrs. Normally the oil starts breaking through after 2hrs and looks really messy after 5hrs so I was surpried that It controlled sebum quite well. After blotting my face with a tissue paper my makeup didn't look patchy.

This powder works really well with the Wayne Goss method ( that is applying powder underneath your foundation to make it last longer). It doesn't pill up or exaggerate the texture of my skin. Compared to Innisfree Sebum powder this is definitely more mattifying. Its scent free so those of you who are sensitive to fragrance give this a go.
Personally I think this more suitable for warm, humid weather (when makeup does not lasts long) I prefer wearing a little glowy makeup in winter so dusting this all over my face can be a little too much. Still I use this sparingly on my nose and forehead to prevent it from looking greasy.

Cosrx suggest using this powder as deodorant and as a substitute for dry shampoo.I haven't used this as a deodorant yet but let me assure you that this is such an affordable alternative to dry shampoo. Not only it absorbs excess oil from the scalp. It also adds volume to the hair.

I have found a Holy Grail powder to replace my Innisfree No sebum powder

Cosrx No Sebum Powder can be purchased at Jolse at a discounted price.

[Review] MISSHA Artistool To-Go Kit

Many of you might be aware that I travel back and forth between two cities all year long. I am a minimalist ( a very contradictory lifestyle for someone who blogs) but honestly I prefer taking few deluxe size makeup products when I am on the move.

Today I am reviewing this Professional Artistool To Go kit by Missha. The concept behind this kit is to curate a basic makeup brush set which includes all the essential brushes which one might require when travelling.

This kit contains 5 face brushes and a small white pouch to store them. All brushes come with a separate plastic guard so you dont have to worry about bristles being damaged or disfigured while in your makeup bag.

Starting with ferrule. These are made of plastic and have some weight to them. The matte black exterior looks classy with Missha printed on one end in white.

Let me clarify one thing, this brush set is by no means a flimsy cheap set you get at a Dollar store. The bristles are cut with outmost care and are dense. They pick the product nicely and apply it with precision to the face. The bristles are soft but have firmness to them so when you swipe it on your face it holds its shape.

The handle is short but it feels comfortable to hold. The small size takes less space and makes them very travel friendly.

The kit includes:

  1. Powder brush
  2. Shading and cheek brush
  3. Blending brush
  4. Shadow (base) brush
  5. Shadow (point) brush

I will now do an in-depth review of each brush individually

Starting with the powder brush. This has dense black bristles. Its fluffy and picks loose powder quite well. The small shape makes this handy to set under eye concealer or use this for contouring cheeks.

The shading and cheek brush has soft white bristles. This is great for applying blush or defining  cheek bones. The tappered edge is nice to work on jaw area.

My personal favourite the Blending Brush. I have hooded eyes which means that I have a not existent crease. Big fluffy blending brushes often end up extending the color beyond my natural crease and make me look like a clown but this one is perfect for my tiny  crease area. Plus it defines the nose really nice and works as a highlighter brush as well

The shadow base brush is flat and great for those who have a small lid area. The bristles are firm and pack the pigment onto the lid quite well.

The shadow point brush resembles a pencil brush in many ways. Its pointy tip can be ussd to define under eye area or highlight inner eye corner.

Missha with out any doubt has done an amazing job creating this Artistool To Go kit. My only complain with this set is that the shadow point brush has a cylinderical guard which cant be placed back on as its narrow and crushes the bristles. Other than that this is perfect.

I dont own a professional make up brush set from Sigma or Mac but I do own a decent Makeup brush set from one of the popluar Instagram trending brands. These brushes are definitely great alternative to full size brushes. Even if you dont travel much I would recommend these to those pf you who have hooded eyes because they work amazing on small eye shapes.

[Review] Tony Moly Inked Lasting Mascara

When I first received this mascara I was hit by a flood of memories from the past. Back then fountain pens were all rage and came in different shapes and special unique nibs with intricate patterns carved on it.

Thank you Tony Moly for the trip down the memory lane.

I accidentally damaged the cardboard box in my excitement. As you can see this mascara has a packaging similar to that of a fountain pen. The size of the tube is a little chubbier than a regular mascara but its cute nonetheless. the Inked range has two types of mascaras in the collection. I picked the Golden one for Volume because my lashes are long already.
Many of you might have noticed that mascara is one domain that needs to be explored and reviewed further in asian beauty community. Because there are only a handful of posts regarding korean mascaras.

This mascara has medium lenght wand, on one end is a relatively thin, synthetic bristles brush which has a some what curved conical shape (The curved part assists in lifting lashes). The bristles are packed in a manner that they grasp the lash hair and deposit mascara  thoroughly.

I found the formula on the drier side which is good because runny formulas don't do much for my eyes. The brsuh adds adequate volume amd makes the lashes look thick and pigmented. I doesn't take long to dry up either. It doesn't flake during the day or smudge under my eyes. And removes easily with micellar water by the end of the day.

Personally I am very satisfied with this mascara. It definitely lives up to the standard of my HG essence mascaras. Not only is this product cute to look at, it does a really good job of giving me fluttery lashes. the brush works great on both upper and lower lashes.

This cute TonyMoly Inked Lasting mascara is available at Jolse for purchase
