[Review] Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off

Continuing with my journey to test more products from SkinFood I bought their super popular Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off. The Skinfood wash off mask comes in a variety of different ingredients like Strawberry, Rice, Honey , Coconut and Black sugar . I was torn between the strawberry wash off mask and the black sugar mask. After a really long metal debate I bought the black sugar one but I do regret not purchasing the strawberry one because this is so good ( oops did I just ruined my review)

Features
A leave-on mask with generous moisturizing and effective exfoliating ingredients.
Grainy sugar granules slough off excess oil and grime, while a self-heating formula opens up pores, allowing skin to fully absorb the rich minerals and vitamins.
Experience renewed luster and softness immediately after use. By Skinfood

According to the directions you are supposed to apply a generous layer of this mask onto your face for few minutes then massage your skin gently and wash off with water to reveal smooth and soft skin.

The mask comes in tub container. Another plastic lid with skinfood logo embossed on it is present inside the tub. This wash off masks surprisingly smells citrusy. I actually anticipated this to smell sweet like black sugar but the mild citrus scent surprised me a lot

When I scooped out a little bit of the masks I was really surprised and somewhat worried  to see small granules of black sugar. I didn't know if they were too rough to be used on the skin .

Nonetheless I followed the directions and applied this to my face. Instantly I began to feel mild warm sensation on my skin. The granules partially dissolved on my skin because of the water and didn't feel rough or abrasive at all. It was really easy to massage this onto the skin. My skin was so soft and smooth too. The dry patches around my nose and cheek area were gone. The mask washed off easily with water

You might have to store this mask in the fridge because the sugar in this mask can attract ants. Keeping in mind the current deteriorating weather and environment this is a really good substitute for synthetic scrubs that contain plastic beads. Moreover its very economic and comes in a  100 g tub which will last you for a long time

Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off really lives up to the hype and is something every skincare enthusiast must try. I am going to try more of the variants from this range soon

[REVIEW] SKINFOOD Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence

The sad news of Skinfood closing down because of bankruptcy has ben circulating the beauty community for last 6 months.  Skinfood is one of most popular Korean road shop brand that everyone adores. To see them go shatters my heart into small pieces. Though I am still hopefull that brand will be revived in someway. Today's post is a tribute to   Fallen solider aka SkinFood

Features
Concentrated nutrition of black bee propolis, royal jelly, and honey extracts improves the skin condition. PRO-SHIELD™ efficiently conveys the pure ingredients to the skin.
Moisture layering effect strengthens the skin barrier sturdily and healthily.

Skinfood recently upgraded the formula to   63% propolis extract and 10% royal jelly extract making this one the best propolis essence

Ingredients:
Propolis Extract, Honey Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Butylene Glycol, Dipropylene Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Glycerin, Beta-Glucan, Lactobacillus Ferment, Saccharomyces Ferment, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium Edta, Carbomer, Arginine

I have tried a few propolis containing sheetmasks and serum  and my experience has been quite pleasant with the ingredient so I already had my hopes up when I testing this product

The packaging as you can see is beautiful 50ml  glass bottle that gives off turkish vibes because of the design. The dropper has auto fill mechanism ( the pippete fills itself when you twist the cap)

The essence to my utter surprise is very runny. It feels so moisturizing and hydrating but lightweight at the same time. The directions on the box suggest using a few drops. One of the unique characters of this essence is that this is completely scent free.

Propolis is known for its antifungal, antibacterial and skin healing properties. Through I don't have any fungal acne at the moment I do like this for the hydrating properties. For me 2-3 drops are enough to get soft, plump and glowy skin. This essence really makes your skin Mochi. You can use this both day and night but I prefer to use this at night so that my skin gets maximum benefit from propolis. The price may look a little high but if you compared it to other brands you are going to realize that this is actually very affordable in terms of the quantity and quality.

I am sad that I discovered a great product so late and dread the day when I will run out of this precious essence. I highly recommend you to give this one a try. Its like a love at use kind of essence which works for all skin types

SKINFOOD Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence is available at Jolse.com so stock up on this bottle of goodness
