[Review] AMOREPACIFIC APRIL TRIAL KIT

I was holding onto this kit so that I could use this on a trip or take it to hospital with me on a call day. But the Covid19 just threw water over all my plans so I decided to just incorporate the products to my routine and enjoy them before they expired.

I am very impressed by the thought that was put into curating this kit.  Because it is perfect . It contains all the cult favourite skincare that everyone loves. Moreover it includes all the basic and important skincare steps

Primera Peeling Facial Mild - Broccoli Sprout. 

Improves skin texture and tone through smooth removal of dead skin cells.
Removes dead skin cell to make the skin’s surface smooth. Biopolymer film forms a supple barrier to protect the skin.

Starting off with the peeling gel . I really liked the fresh clean scent. It is gentle and really removes all the dead cells. This is my first ever primera product and I would be excited to try more products from the brand in future

HERA Sun Mate Leports SPF 50 -

A travel kit is incomplete if it lacks sunscreen. I was so thrilled to try this deluxe tube of high end sunscreen

 Sunscreen that offers both water and sweat resistance with strong UV protection for prolonged outdoor activity. Enhanced PA++++ formula provides intensive protection against UVA to keep the skin healthy.

The product itself has a bit of a neon yellow tinge and  a hint of a floral scent to it. When you rub it onto the skin. It immediately adds a sheen to the face minus the white cast. It is very moisturizing and sits so beautifully under foundation . I have added this to my winter wishlist it is really worth the splurge

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX Essence Anti Aging 

The packaging is so freakin' Adorable. Like look at that miniature pump bottle

An essential first-step serum formulated with JAUM Balancing Complex™ assures a glowing and healthier look by harmonizing the balance of your skin.

I got an opportunity to try out this essence from Sulwhasoo. Though the quantity was too small to see any significant results but I did enjoyed the texture and the ginseng scent. I might but a full size bottle for my mother

IOPE Super Vital Cream Rich

Heard Joan Kim mention this eye cream in her post. I know the tub looks small but this will last you a really long time

Total anti aging cream (ultra moisturizing) that contains powerful plant energy to meticulously care for complex signs of aging.

This smells a bit like tea. It is intensely moisturizing, preps under eye area for makeup and absorbs easily into the skin.

HANYUL - Pure Artemisia Mild Cleansing Foam 

I feel that my skincare is incomplete without Cica or Artemesia these days. First off the scent is so fresh . I really have this line from Hanyul on my wishlist

Excellent moisturizing power helps protect your skin after washing.
Removes makeup and reduces stimulation.
Rich lather cleanses every part of skin. 

The texture is really nice, it thoroughly removes dirt and sebum. And makes some really intense bubbles/foam

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

The most talked about product from Laneige. I was expecting some kind of balm like sealant but the gel texture really caught me off guard

An overnight, moisture-recharging gel mask that quickly absorbs while you sleep to deeply hydrate skin. 

I have used this a few times I think this works with all skin types. The small tub is cute too

SUMMER SKINCARE FAVOURITES 2020

I shared my Makeup Favourites for 2020 in previous post. I have a few tried and tested skincare favourites for the summer of 2020
Lets start shall we !!

The first step of my skincare routine is an oil cleanser but since I have run out of my favorite Celimax Blackhead Removing Cleansing Oil I haven't found anything as that on my skincare routine

On the other hand I am genuinely enjoying the Senka Speedy Perfect Whip Cleanser . This is one of the cult favourite best selling cleanser from Japan. I opted for the pump bottle packaging as I really like the ease of use and tons of bubbles this creates.

Axisy Daily Purifying Treatment toner is something I used last year and liked it but them I got distracted and this ended up forgotten in my cupboard. But now due to the current pandemic and mask my acne has flared up pretty bad.  So I rediscovered this gem of product in my stash and incorporated this back into my routine. And slowly with continuous use my skin has improved a lot.

Sweating + sebum = clogged pores which means BHA. I have been using this Cosrx BHA Power Liquid on and off for 1 year and this works wonder for the pesky clogged pores I get on my face. I just pump this on a cotton pad and swipe it on my face gently a few times

Have you ever tried a gel spray . This Herb Doctor's Gel Spray surprised me a lot . It has this cool gel texture which sprays out like a liquid.  I like to pop this in fridge prior to use and trust me this feels so refreshing on a hot day. The hydration is adequate for my oily skin.

GASTON Shooting Star Crystal Eye Patch . It is hydrating, depuffing and beautiful to look at. Do I need to say more ? I am already at the end of my tub

A 2 in 1 product in my opinion that works really well in keeping the sebum under control with its smooth silicon like texture while protecting against the sun at the same time. Sunscreens are notorious for giving white cast or piling under makeup but this DMCK Clean AC Sunstick SPF 50 PA+++ crosses out all of those problems

Summer is incomplete without a good mid mask . This year I am really digging this Pixi Glow Mud Mask. It has a relatively soft, flowy easy to spread texture which dries down completely in less than 10 mins. I have noticed that this really grabs all the gunk and sebum in my pores

Pimple patches are a must have for zit . I recently introduced this Purito All Care Recovery Cica Aid to my routine . I like these. They are thin and do the job without damaging the wallet

2ndesign First Lip Balm Restore and Soothe is a generous sized non scented lip balm that moisturizes chapped lips and makes them plump

I  am guilty of having smelly feet . This Keep Cool and Soothe Feet has been a complete game changer for me . It refreshes the feet and keep the dreadful smell under control.

APIEU Icing Sweet Bar Mask and AbyBOM Ultra Serum Leaf Mask are to of my favourite sheet masks for summer.  Both of them have nice thin sheets, good summer scent and water like essence.

Duft and Doft Stockholm Rose is the perfect floral scent you must try this summer. It is soft , feminine and very summer appropriate

Lastly I want to add in these two really summery nail enamels to the list. These are the Golden Rose Color Expert Nail Lacquer in Shade 113 and 130 . Just takes two coats to get beautiful color and shine.

[Review] Hanyul Yuja Face Oil

I received Hanyul Yuja cooling sleeping pack as a gift several months ago but back then the weather was really unpleasant so I didn't bother opening the sleeping pack. But last month I finally used it on my skin and I was really amazed by the rich yuja scent and the beautiful texture. It became an instant favourite for me. So I wanted to try the Yuja Oil from Hanyul and see if it was as great as the sleeping mask

No I have mentioned this time and time again that I have oily skin and there are some oils that ACTUALLY regulate sebum production. I use face oils in winter. As they retain moisture of my skin . Moreover it also makes my makuep look dewy and radiant.

Coming to the packaging it is minimal ( hanyul keeps the packaging simple) . There is a pamphlet with details/directions in english enclosed in the box.  The frosted glass bottle has a dropper / pipette mechanism.

How To Use:

Take 1-2 drops, apply on the entire face, and pat lightly skin to promote absorb
Add one drop into Hanyul Yuja Sleeping Mask to get better effects.
Directly apply one drop on dry areas to keep skin moisturized and radiant.

The oil has a light yuja fragrance. Its not thick or viscous. To me it feels light and very runny.  I took a few drops on palm of my hand . Warmed it by rubbing my hands and then gently patted it into my skin.
The description is accurate. It instantly absorbs into the skin without leaving any greasy residue. My skin feels soft but the shine is very minimal ( perhaps using more drops can make skin look shiny/greasy )

I have also used this with sleeping mask and this amplifies the moisture/hyradtion properties. Facial Oils are very tricky. They can either make your skin better or destroy your skin . So doing research prior to dipping toes in this category is crucial.

For my skin type Hanyul Yuja Face Oil has worked quite well. It didn't aggravate acne or clog my pores. I think it is safe to say that this is suitable for all skin types. If you are looking for some korean facial oil recommendations I would suggest you to give this one a try. Its pricey but little goes a long way. Also Hanyul is a very trustable skincare brand that specializes in Hanbang (traditional Korean medicine) skincare

[Review] Hanyul Mentha Trouble Spot Gel

Zits are inevitable when the weather is hot and humid. The past two months I have been trying different spot treatments to keep acne under control. Hanyul Mentha Trouble Spot Gel as the name implies is a Spot gel to treat acne and keep excessive sebum under control. If you are new to Hanyul it is a korean skincare brand which focuses more on Hanbang ingredients. I have tried a few products from the brand and results really pleased me

Features
A spot gel suitable for the use of acne skin that reduces unwanted sebum and intensively controls the trouble skin.
Peppermint extract and Centella extract help restore tired skin by external environment.
Contains Korean Mint that reduces sebum effectively and turn the skin into transparent

The packaging is simple and small. The small squeezable bottle has a glass nozzle to dispense the product. I find this to be very hygienic

The product itself has gel like consistency and light yellow color. It also has a mild fresh scent. I apply a small amount of the gel only onto the troubled area. Let it sit for a while and gently rub it into the skin. The gel initially feels a little sticky but after few minutes it absorbs into the skin. Someone on Instagram said that this makes the acne disappear in just 2 days and I totally stand by this claim. A few days ago I had a really painful breakout on my cheek. A spot of this gel twice a day just magically made the inflammation go down considerable. The best part is that I didn't get any Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
